Connecticut NY Times Hartford; Growth in Hispanic population an influx of Latin American immigrants is contributing to a rapid growth in the state s Hispanic population, and they may soon become Connecticut s largest minority group, population estimates from the census bureau suggest. Hispanics had been projected to eclipse non-hispanic blacks as Connecticut s largest minority before But that demographic milestone appears to be approaching much more rapidly than had been projected.
