INTRODUCTION WELCOME It s a pleasure to welcome you all to the 38 th South Swedish Rally 2013 This document, Rally Guide 1, is mainly produced for the teams, competitors and media and contains information necessary for the preparation before the event. Further information will be given in the supplementary regulations, and in the Rally Guide 2, published 29 th April, which is an update of Rally Guide 1 as well as more comprehensive and detailed information, useful during the event. Please note that these documents have no regulatory power and are only to be considered as information. The Rally The 38th South Swedish Rally has its HQ in Tingsryd; which means some new and some old good roads will be used this year and we assure that you as competitor and media will have the same service as previous years. The South Swedish Rally is an event which counts for the Swedish Rally Championship (SM and JSM), the NEZ Rally Championship (NEZ) and SSR for FIA App. K cars. The route The South Swedish Rally is known as one of the best gravel rallies in Europe. The rally consists of 16 stages and 14 stages are on gravel, 2 stages right in the city centre of Tingsryd is driven mostly on tarmac. Total length of the rally is limited with short road sections etc. and app. 34 % of the total length is special stages! The Rally HQ, starting and finishing area and Prize giving The HQ will be located at Tingsryd Hotel. The start and finish ramp will be located right in the city centre of Tingsryd. The prize giving will take place at Tingsryd Hotel. Service Parc, rest halt and Parc Fermé The Service Parc and the press room is located at TingsrydTravet in Tingsryd. The rest halt and the over night Parc Fermé as well as the Parc Fermé after the rally will be located close to the Service Parc. Entry details 4.1 The rally counts for the following titles and cups - Swedish Rally Championship (SM and JSM, only Swedish drivers) - NEZ Rally Championship - SSR FIA app. K cars 4.2 Requirements for an accepted entry Closing date and time for entries is Monday 22 nd April at The Supplementary regulations are published at our web site; Those whishing to take part in the 38 th South Swedish Rally must do their entry before closing date and time. SERVICE PARC 5.1 Place The main Service Park for the entire rally is located at TingsrydTravet, Travbanan 1, S , Tingsryd and the surface is gravel. Telephone number to the Service Parc officials will be given in Rally Guide Access to the Service Park The opening hours of the Service Park are from Thursday 9 th May at and until Sunday 12 th May at Facilities The following services will be arranged at the Service Park (without charge): Toilets, water and garbage area General light Service desk for results The following may be ordered by using the order form enclosed in appendix A4, page 40 or at our web site: Extended service area = 6 per m2, 5.4 Security Guarding of the Service Park will not be arranged by the South Swedish Rally. Each team has to arrange this on the teams own account. 5.5 Media A result desk will found at the Service Park; The position of the result desk, please see the final drawing of the Service Park which will be published in Rally Guide 2. 22

8 5.6 Medical care In urgent cases call 112 (free of charge) In non-urgent cases, contact the 24 hour telephone service for medical care assistance 1177 (free of charge) Your phone call will be answered by experienced nurses, who will help you to find the best treatment or book a doctor appointment The teams may use the Vårdcentralen Tingsryd, Storgatan 87, Tingsryd Open Monday Wednesday and Friday , Thursday Telephone RECONNAISSANCE 6.1 Reporting The registration for reconnaissance will take place Rally HQ at the following times: Reporting: Wednesday 8 th May Thursday 9 th May Reconnaissance: Thursday 9 th May Friday 10 th May reporting to the rally at the same time reporting to the rally at the same time according to schedule according to schedule At the registration for reconnaissance, the administrative check will also be implemented. This means that both the driver and the co-driver have to be present. 6.2 Regulations The time schedule and the regulations for reconnaissance will be published in Rally Guide 2 and in a bulletin. 6.3 Restrictions Between on Friday 1 st February and on Saturday 11 th May, it is strictly forbidden to drive, regardless way of driving, stay and/or walk over the special stages of the South Swedish Rally, except when the special stages are open for reconnaissance, and the team have to be allowed to do the reconnaissance, or open as special stages. Any offence against these regulations will lead to non-admission to the start and the entry fee will not be refunded. The organisers will carefully supervise this. 7. HOSPITALITY ARRANGEMENTS Any activities taken by the organiser will be presented in a bulletin. Any hospitality arrangements, along the itinerary, taken by the competitors and/or their sponsors need to have a permit given by the South Swedish Rally AB. IMPORT OF VEHICLES AND SPARE PARTS Competitor from the European Union does not make any special custom clearance for temporary import of cars and equipment with the purpose to participate in the South Swedish Rally. Entrants from outside the European Union have to report to the customs at arrival in Sweden. Please contact the Custom authorities in Sweden well in advance, on telephone or website for current information about the correct procedure. 14. Here, deep in south-east Sweden, under swaying spruces and mighty weeping birches, stretch winding gravelled roads, stone walls that go on for miles and miles, meadows and rivers, through stunning forest and sea landscapes scattered with villages, small communities, and urban areas. Here you can sit by the water s edge, breath in the clean forest air, and just luxuriate a short while, a few days, or the rest of your life, if you wish. Tingsryd is the Småland municipality nestling in its own little corner of the world. The views from Lunnabacken, in Urshult, which stretch over the whole region, are truly enchanting. And in close proximity you ll find over 200 lakes, perfect for swimming and fishing. All the way along the mighty Lake Åsnen you ll find small, glittering forest ponds, where twinflowers and Arctic starflowers huddle by the water s edge. In between ripple 26

12 brooks and sweeping streams where you can glide along the waterway towards the sea in a canoe, far from the madding crowd. Unforgettable holiday memories Whether you want to laze on the beach or fill your days with close-to-nature activities, you will find a paradise here. In our municipality, nature is always right next door. Colourful fruit orchards stand shoulder to shoulder with calm forests and you re never far from water several hundred lakes offer exciting fishing, relaxing canoeing or a cooling swim. Cycling and hiking paths lead you through varying landscapes and for those of you interested in riding, there is always the opportunity of renting horses. A definite highlight is the Korröfestival, the largest folk music festival in Sweden! Kurrebo idea & exhibition garden, the cult declared car cemetery Kyrkö mösse and Korrö handicraft village and nature reserve are some of the classic visitor targets in our municipality. On rainy days, the Kaskad Water Palace in Tingsryd is a popular attraction. Once again, welcome 15.3 Medical and safety information Citizens of the EU/EEA countries* will receive emergency medical care paying the same patient charge as Swedish citizens, whilst in Sweden. Citizens from these countries must provide an E 111-form, EU card or corresponding document verifying that the person is covered by health insurance, when the medical care is required and should obtain this form before leaving their home country. Competitors from these countries must also provide an E 111-form, EU card or corresponding document verifying that the person is covered by health insurance. Citizens in other countries than mentioned above have to pay the total cost of treatment plus the patient charge.
