1 Welcome to MondoBox.TV USER GUIDE WHAT YOU NEED TO BE ABLE TO WATCH ITALIAN TV USING MONDOBOX: FAST INTERNET CONNECTION A TELEVISION SET ABLE TO CONNECT TO MONDOBOX USING HDMI CABLE Without these MondoBox will NOT work What MondoBox is: Mondobox is a receiver of Internet television channels. It has been tuned to receive TV channels being bradcast over the Internet and plays them to your TV set. Most Italian TV stations broadcast over the air (in Italy) and on the Internet and your Mondobox receiver has been tuned to receive these channels specifically. There are no costs associated with receiving these channels as they are free. What MondoBox is NOT: Mondobox receives only those channels which have been made available by their respective owners. We at MondoBox do not transmit these. They are transmitted over the Internet by the station's owners such as RAI or Mediaset TV in Italy. Should the owners of these broadcasts decide to stop transmitting their channels over the Internet they have the right to do so. This means that these channels would no longer be available to watch. MondoBox is NOT a satellite receiver and cannot receive broadcasts of RAI Italia which is transmitted via satellite. Please Note: The only other costs you will incur is for Internet use. The amount of usage depends on your current Internet plan. Please check your service agreement with your Internet provider. As a rough guide, for every hour of high-definition video received, you will have consumed 1Gb of data from your Internet allowance. (c) MondoBox.TV 2016 Instructions Page 1

2 What we provide in the box: 1. Remote control which contains 2 AAA size batteries 2. One power pack 3. One HDMI cable 4. One MondoBox.TV receiver What is NOT included in the pack: You will need a cable to go from your Internet modem or router, to the back of the MondoBox receiver. You may purchase these from many outlets such as JB Hi-Fi, Dick Smith, or any computer store. This cable is known as a CAT 5 cable and is blue in colour. The length of this cable will depend on how far your TV set is from your Internet modem. There are two plugs on a CAT 5 cable. One plug on each end and it doesn't matter which plug goes where. Simply plug one end of the CAT 5 cable to your modem or router (that is, your Internet box) and the other end into the MondoBox receiver there is only one place for this to plug in to. 3 Plugging it all in: 1. Unbox the receiver, the remote control, the power pack the HDMI cable. 2. First, plug in your CAT 5 cable. One end of the cable into your modem or router, and then the other end into the MondoBox receiver. 3. Second, find the HDMI cable supplied with your MondoBox receiver. Plug one end of the HDMI cable into the MondoBox receiver and the other end into your TV set's HDMI socket. If you do not have a TV set capable of taking a HDMI plug you will NOT be able to use the receiver. 4. Finally, plug into your 240V socket. 5. Plug the other end of the power pack cable into the back of the MondoBox receiver (labelled DC ). 6. Please don't worry about the 3 USB ports and the optical AV ports in the back of the receiver. When the unit has been plugged in to the power you should see a blue light on the front of the unit. This confirms there is power to the unit. Please make sure that before your switch the receiver on, that your TV set has been set to receive an input from the HDMI plug connected to it. 4 If your TV is correctly connected to HDMI, please point the MondoBox remote control at the receiver and press the red power button, which is located at the top left of the remote control. The light on the MondoBox receiver front panel should turn blue. If all is connected properly you will see the following image: The vertical menu on the left allows you to view: This is how your TV screen should look: 1. RAI TV 2. MediaSet TV 3. LA7 4. 5 This is the Remote control used to navigate the menu: The most important keys are: Back arrow key (shaped like a U turn arrow) Up/Down Left/Right OK + Volume up - Volume down (c) MondoBox.TV 2016 Instructions Page 5

6 To move up and down through the menu: From the main menu, use the down button located of the wheel around the OK button, to move up and down through the channel categories. For example, move to MediaSet TV. Then Press OK to select MediaSet TV. The screen will then show the programs available for you to watch. Click on a show to start watching. To go back, press the Return Key (the U turn arrow). This will take you one step back from where you are, regardless of which menu item or program you are watching. Feel free to experiment with your remote control. Please remember that there may be a delay between pressing a button and MondoBox carrying out what you want it to do. It all depends on the speed of your Internet connection. Give the receiver the chance to work by waiting a few seconds after pressing a button. Read the top left of the screen. MondoBox will tell you it's working. When you are watching a show and click the return key, the menu will be displayed while you continue to watch the current program. This allows you to change channels easily. To switch the system off, simply use the return key to go back to the main menu. Then, press the red (power) button located at the top left of the remote control. Video MediaSet Please select the sub-menu item Elenco programmi after selecting Mediaset from the main menu. LA 7 News from Italy (delayed to Australia) Corriere TV Variety of news and entertainment items TV Koper Capodistria Cinema Italiano Italian Old and New release movies RAINews 24 Live News direct from Italy Sky TG 24 News Il Fatto Quotidiano TV Regionale here you'll find many live TV channels from regions around Italy Serie Italiane 3B Meteo (weather forecast for Italy and regions) Radio Italia live Italian radio stations Please note that these channels may not always function. This is due to some changes made by the channels itself. The software in Mondobox should automatically pick up these changes when you (c) MondoBox.TV 2016 Instructions Page 6

7 next switch on the box. Tips when using Mondobox. Understand that there will be delays such as when switching between channels and between sub-channels. This delay depends on the speed of your internet connection. Not all channels will be working channel changes will eventually be picked up. Please be patient. Familiarise yourself with the remote control. Switch off your unit by pressing the red button on your remote control. Ensure your unit is off by unplugging it from the wall. If, for any reason, the box appears to be frozen, please unplug the power cord from the back of the unit, wait 30 seconds then plug it back in. REMEMBER no matter on what screen you are, keep pressing the back arrow button on the remote control. Eventually you will get back to the main menu Thank you for purchasing the MondoBox.
