Approximately 200 outdoor sports companies are located in the Rhône- Alpes region, representing more than 450 brands and 25,000 employees, in other words 50% of both the direct and the indirect outdoor sports industry jobs in France. It goes without saying that the future of the outdoor sports industry is located in the Rhône-Alpes and surrounding region, where the European headquarters of the largest and most successful international companies of the outdoor industry are located: Salomon, Mavic, Patagonia, Petzl, Vuarnet, Columbia, adidas Outdoor, Orage, Fusalp, Eider, Millet, Burton, Arva, Scott Sports, Icebreaker these companies as well as others fully support the OSV Education Programs. What is OSV? «Outdoor Sports Valley» is an expression that refers to both a region and a cluster of industries dedicated to outdoor sports. This area encompasses tens of thousands of employees from the sports and recreation industries, the headquarters of most outdoor industry companies, and represents one of the planet s most unique playgrounds. By the numbers, OSV has more than 90 member companies that represent over 150 brands and around employees. 3 Annecy / Lyon, France & Shanghai, China Msc in Sports and Outdoor Industry Management The objective of this graduate program is to train future executives and managers in the outdoor sports industry. The curriculum will cover advances and new developments in the outdoor sports industry and market, from product trends to marketing techniques to sourcing strategies. Instruction will be conducted by EMLYON Business School s high level professors and lecturers, in collaboration with professionals from the industry. This includes 7 months of coursework in France, split between EMLYON s Lyon campus (core courses) and Annecy-The Alps (specialized courses), as well as 4 months of coursework in China at EMLYON Business School s Shanghai campus (specialized courses and an in-company project linked to real issues in the industry). Classes will be followed by a 4 to 9 month internship and writing a Master s dissertation. The program will be divided into two parts: 7 months of classes at the Université de Savoie (IAE Savoie Mont-Blanc Institute of Management) followed by a 3 month internship. 5 Annecy, France Bachelor s Degree in Performance Sports Textile and Footwear The goal of this program is to train future highly skilled technicians in the areas of apparel, footwear, bags, or textile accessories. The curriculum will cover advances and new developments in the sports equipment market. Instruction will be through the Université de Savoie (IUT) in Annecy, France, and includes 500 hours of classes as well as individual and group projects. Classes go from September through the end of March, followed by a 3-month minimum internship.
