5 SERVICES CUSTOMS CLEARANCE The Fast Customs Clearance Centre was recently set up and includes a Import Clearance system developed by FFM that allows both the aviation sector and government bodies Customs - to determine whether a shipment will Fast Customs Clearance Point Fast Customs Clearance Centre Export Clearance require prior inspection at Bologna Airport based on electronic predeparture and pre-arrival information. Clients of Fast Freight Marconi s Bonded Warehouse Customs Clearance Centre will have their freight ready to deliver in 4 hours time after arrival (against present average of 2/3 days)

6 SERVICES SECURITY CHECKS Air freight is based on the 'known shipper principle: freight has to be declared. For this reason Airports and flight Operators are facing increasingly stringent security requirements, which necessitate a complete check of the freight for any dangerous elements. X-ray inspections of pre-packed ULDs thus constitute a major intervention in the work flow in the cargo handling process FFM has recently obtained the Italian Transport Ministry Authority s (ENAC) Certification for Agente Regolamentato (Known Shipper)
