Get off at Sorø Station. The campus can be reached by bus 234 but also bus 801, 802, 806 and 807 will stop near the campus.

6 Opening hours The school is open 24 hours with a key card The canteen is open from 16 August during lunch hours serving meals in various sizes and prices: DKK 12 (soup) 18, 23 and 27. Health is a key concept for the canteen School Holidays There are no classes in the Autumn Holiday (always week 42), over Christmas (usually a two week period), over Easter (usually 1½ week). In addition there are a number of national holidays during the spring semester. These vary from year to year. Student ID Card / Keys You will need a student identity card. This card functions as Card Key for the school premises. It can also function as a photocopy card. There is a deposit. Once the study office has registered you, they can provide you with an address and a password to the computers at the school premises. Keys for the dormitories are handled by the study office, where you also pay your rent. Accommodation: There are a number of on-campus dormitories. These vary in size and you may have to share a room. The rooms are furnished. You will, however, need to bring linen etc. When you stay in our dormitories, we expect that you keep your room clean as well as the other facilities you use. We do not place boys and girls in the same room; however, you may have to share kitchen and bathroom with members of the opposite gender. Social Activities on Campus There are a number of school parties each year. You are very welcome to join in. Students also meet in the Café. Most events are very informal. It is perfectly acceptable to attend without consuming alcohol; however, it must be assumed that alcohol will be consumed.

7 International Activities Activities vary. Practical Local Information Shops and Banks. The cheapest supermarkets are: Netto, Fakta, Aldi and Lidl In the main street you will find most of the amenities you need, including some of the cheap supermarkets. The more expensive supermarkets are Kvickly and Superbest. Petrol stations in the town also carry some daily products like bread, milk etc. Shops are not open very long in the small towns in Denmark. Normal shop hours Monday to Friday are ; some shops are open till Supermarkets are open till Saturdays shops are open Fakta is open on Sundays as are baker shops. Banks: Banks are open Monday to Friday and till on Thursdays. The banks have 24 hr. cash points. There are a number of banks in the main street. Medicine and Health Doctors: If you are ill outside normal opening hours, you can contact a local doctor between on this number Hospital: There is no hospital in Sorø nearest hospital is in Slagelse: Emergency at Slagelse Hospital, Ingemannsvej 18, Slagelse Medical Emergency: Dial 114 Pharmacy The pharmacy (Apotek) is also in the main street Monday to Thursday 09:30-17:00, Friday 09:30 18:00, and Saturday: 09:30-13:00, Sunday closed Some none-prescription medicine is available in supermarkets etc. Other Useful Addresses: The local council office (Kommune)is in Rådhusgade 8 The local town library is found near the harbour, Storgade 7 (main street) Tourist agency Storgade 15 (main street) The local police station is found on Storgade 5 (main street). 8 Local Activities Sport: There are a number of sport activities available in the town including a swimming pool ask your tutor or IPV There is a small cinema in town called Victoria Teatret: Most foreign language films will be shown in original language with Danish subtitles. For a larger selection you will have to go to Slagelse: The town has a few cafés and discotheques. There are a number of local museums. There are plenty of opportunities for nature experiences. Sorø is placed in a beautiful area of lakes and woods.
