7 Market situation & Outlook GCC Current major investments are ongoing / planned in UAE, Bahrain, Gulf coast of KSA and Oman KSA (Red Sea coast), however subject to mid-term availability of electrical energy and gas Iraq, rehabilitation and new investments Upgrade of existing mills Consumption has grown faster than production Flat steel output is rising fast but will remain well below long products (approx. 70% / 30%) The highest growth rates will be seen in plate and HR coil thanks to the growth in tubular and re-rolling expansions, as well as construction applications 6
