2 ARGUMENTS FOR PUBLISHING JOURNALS ON ECCLESIASTICAL LIBRARIES ecclesiastical libraries are one of the oldest types of libraries a great variety: monastic, capitular, collegiate, parish, diocesan, seminary, theological faculty large and rich collections of manuscripts and early printed books modern library technologies issues dominate in typical library periodicals research on history and content of ecclesiastical libraries collections are still actual and significant ecclesiastical library publications are dispersed over numerous, different journals (library, theological, history etc.) or collective works

11 PURPOSES OF THE JOURNAL to create an informative link between libraries, archives and Church museums to publish guidelines on the organization of archives, libraries and Church museums to inform about research carried out by the Centre of ALCM and it s results to disseminate information of ecclessiastical institutions holding cultural collections of Catholic Church in Poland

13 BRIEF HISTORY problems with censorship problems with finding a printing house the editorial board seat was the private flat of Rev. Prof. S. Librowski until the 1990s when it was transferred to the Centre of ALCM since 1994 published by Catholic University of Lublin Publishing House

15 AUTHORS the early years after 1989 problems with attracting authors to the ABMK priests were not prepared to take upon such specific issues lay researchers were afraid of publishing in an ecclesiastical periodical the vast majority of authors derived from clergymen lay authors mainly from Catholic University of Lublin and its Library authors from beyond Lublin almost 70% of content of each issue authors from abroad (graduated from Polish universities)
