2 General information Location Koszalin is located in the north-western Poland, in Zachodniopomorskie voivodeship. Area The area of Koszalin is 98,34 square kilometres. Population About people live in koszalin. Mayor The mayor of Koszalin is Piotr Jedliński.

5 Famous places Chełmska Mountain Koszalin lies at the foot of Chełmska Mountain which is 137 m above the sea level. First notes of Chełmska Mountain come from From the twelfth to the sixteenth century Chełmska Mountain was a place of Christian worship. It has been known since the Middle Ages. Chełmska Mountain is the seat of the God s Mother Shrine and the convent. There is also a viewing tower on the hill.

6 Cathedral It is the most important and the most valuable monument of Koszalin. The Gothic Cathedral is located at 7 Bolesława Chrobrego street. The Church was built in the years The Cathedral has four bells cast in Poznan in 1980 and one made in 1529 comes from the chapel of St. Nicholas. It is a Roman Catholic parish. The Cathedral is the place of Koszalin Summer Organ Festivals.

7 The House of the Executioner The House of the Executioner is situated in Grodzka street. It is a Gothic house from the 15th century. In the past it used to be dwelling place of the city executioner.

8 Amphitheatre The Ignacy Jan Paderewski Amphitheatre built in 1973 is a spectacular constriction. It is located in the Park, in Koszalin. Marian Czerner and Andrzej Katzer were creators of the project. Amphitheatre has a stage and auditorium which has 4,500 seats.

9 Koszalin philharmonic Concerts of classical music are held at the Philharmonic. 62 musicians work at the Philharmonic. The Philharmonic is located at 105 Zwycięstwa street. The Philharmonic is the organizer of the International Organ Festival.

10 Museum in Koszalin The District Museum in Koszalin was founded in 1947 and in 2009 entered the State Register of Museums. The museum is located in Młyńska Street in the Palace of the Millers. The Museum organizes permanent and temporary exhibitions and outdoor events. It is also involved in education and publishing.

11 St. Gertrude Chapel St. Gertrude chapel is located in Findera Street. It was built in 1384 on the actagonal plan it thge Scandinavian Gothic style. It used to be a cementary Chapel.

12 Adam Sztaba Famous people He was born on 15th of February 1975 in Koszalin. Adam Sztaba is a Polish composer, pianist, arranger, conductor and music producer as well. He is also one of the members of the jury Must be the music.

13 Kuba Wojewódzki He was born on 2nd of August 1963 in Koszalin. Kuba Wojewódzki is a Polish music journalist and a drummer and a showman. He is related with TVN, Radio Eska Rock and weekly policy.

14 Beata Pawlikowska She was born on 11th of June 1965 in Koszalin. Beata is a Polish writer, traveller, journalist, translator, photographer and the author of books.

15 Marek Kamiński Marek Kamiński a famous Polish explorer lives in Koszalin. He was the first man who managed to set foot on both Poles in the same year. He also travelled to the source of the Amazon and across Greenland.

16 Mielno Places around Koszalin Mielno is a large seaside village in the north-western Poland, in the district of Koszalin. It is located by the Baltic Sea and Jamno Lake people live in Mielno. It attracts a lot of tourists every summer and has become a popular holiday resort.

17 Mostowo Mostowo is situated 22 kilometres from Koszalin. There is an archeological reserve near Mostowo. You can admire mysterious magic stone circles made by Goths in the 1st and 2nd AD. It was a place of worship in the past.

18 Gąski Gąski is a seaside village 20 kilometres north- west of Koszalin. It is famous for its lighthouse from 1878.
