2 Office 365 ProPlus now available FREE to all Morton College Students Office 365 ProPlus is available to all current registered Morton College students. MC students can download and install the Microsoft Office suite of applications for home and personal use while an active Morton College all for FREE! What is Office 365 ProPlus? Office 365 ProPlus is a subscription based service from Microsoft that allows students to download Office programs such as: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Access and OneNote. In addition, students can install the Office suite of programs on five, yes 5 different devices. These devices range from Windows computers/laptops to Macs running OS X and mobile devices like the Apple ipad! Morton College is able to provide current registered students Office for free because of a newly launched program from Microsoft called Student Advantage. The Student Advantage program provides students with free access to Microsoft Office for the time you are actively enrolled in school. This gives the student the ability to work with and learn business standard software. For system requirements, please visit: This sounds great! How do I get it? Visit the Panther and login with your portal username & password. Click Submit.

3 From the portal homepage you will click on the link to access your Morton College Student . You will be presented with an OWA (Outlook Web App) splash page while the loads. Once the splash page loads the main window with your inbox items will be shown. In the steps below, we will begin the process of installing Microsoft Office for Windows!

4 Locate the gear icon in the upper right hand corner of the page and click on Office 365 Settings. From the Office 365 Settings page, click on Software. The software section of the settings page hosts the software that is available to download. Continue with the installation on the following pages!

5 From the Software page, ensure that Office is selected. This indicates that the latest version of Microsoft Office will be installed and includes the office suite of applications listed. Select your preferred language. By default, the 32-bit version of Microsoft Office will be installed. You can choose to have the 64-bit version installed by clicking on Advanced by the version section and selecting 64-bit. *Please note: 32-bit Microsoft Office is recommended. Click install when ready to proceed with the installation. Click Run or Save on the setup prompt. Getting Things Ready! The introductory Microsoft Office screen is presented during the installation process.

6 You may see the following in the Windows Taskbar informing the status of the Office installation. During this phase, please do not disconnect from the internet or restart your computer. The Welcome to your new Office screen will open. Click Next. The First things first screen will open. Select Use recommended settings or No thanks to help Microsoft improve the Office product. View the license agreement by clicking View Agreement. To accept the license and proceed with the installation, click Accept.

7 The Sign in will open. When ready to proceed, click Sign-in Enter your Morton College address in the sign in screen. Click Next. Example shown:

8 If presented with We Need a Little More Help window, please select Organizational Account and sign in using your complete Morton College address and password. *The password is the same as your Panther Portal/Blackboard account.

9 The Meet OneDrive screen will open. OneDrive allows you to save your files to the cloud and access them from another computer in another location. Click Next. Hello! How would you like your Office to look? Select your background preference and click Next.

10 Take a look at what s new! Take a look at the new features of Microsoft Office. Click Take a look for an introduction or No, thanks. Welcome to Microsoft Office! You re good to go! Click All done!

11 The installation process is complete! You can find your newly installed Microsoft Office applications from the Start Menu in Windows 7 or the Start Screen in Windows 8. Returning to the Office 365 Settings>Software page will allow you to manage your installs. *Remember, you get to install Microsoft Office on up to five (5) devices. These devices can include; laptops, desktops/workstations, Word App for Apple ipad, Office App for iphone and other smartphone & tablet devices. What happens when I graduate or not a current Morton College? The software will be installed on your home/personal computer, smartphone or tablet device. As long as you remain an active student taking Morton College your copy of Office on devices on which you have installed will remain licensed. Once you graduate or leave Morton College, you can continue using the software by purchasing a license directly from Microsoft.
