1 6th REIC Summer School Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) in South Eastern Europe (SEE) 23 August 3 September 2010, Fojnica, Bosnia and Herzegovina (Second Announcement) Rationale This summer school is thematically dedicated to energy efficiency and renewable energy (EERE) and their importance for achieving sustainable development. It aims at deepening and expanding sectoral-oriented knowledge through a multidisciplinary approach by offering comprehensive and innovative methods of work upon which the obstacles to the introduction and to the use of renewable energy as well as to the enhancement of energy-efficiency are tackled. Finally, both environmental and societal aspects of renewable energy use and energy efficiency improvement will be duly taken into account. Goals Offer educational support to young researchers from the region on renewable energy and energy efficiency issues; Enhance the interdisciplinary approach of sustainable energy issues, Build capacities on renewable energy and energy efficiency promotion as an element of reaching sustainable development in the SEE region, Strengthen the dissemination of information on renewable energy and energy efficiency potentials in the region. Target group The multidisciplinary programme is targeting young professionals and final year students from the following countries in South East Europe: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, The former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, as well as UNMIK/Kosovo. 1
