2 What is an Inter-Company Mobility Plan? A group of actions which aim is to rationalize the everyday commutes towards business districts and industrial parks. The main purpose is to encourage employees, customers and suppliers of one company to reduce their car use and to find an alternative way for their commutes.
3 Inter-Company Mobility Plans in Lyon s metropolitan Area (Plans de Déplacements Inter-Entreprises) Objectives: Arise debates about daily workplace commutes in industrial sectors and business districts Share initiatives between companies of the same geographical area Encourage a change in existing mobility practices
4 Current context in France according to ADEME* 2011 Increase of car use = 80% of the everyday commutes for work are made by car against 63% 10 years ago Increase of transport Price = 17,4% of household expenses are devoted to transport (2d place after the accommodation expenses) Global warming and CO2 emissions = Cars represent 12% of the CO2 emissions Existing opportunities = 80% of French people are ready to change their way of life and their habits in order to protect the environment 4 *French National Agency for Environment and Energy Save
