2 Using the Xerox WorkCentre 7300 Series MFD The Scan to File solution allows you to scan and save your documents directly onto your Command share drive. This article explains how to scan and save a document using the Xerox 7328, 7335, 7345, or 7346 multifunction device (MFD). Applies To All NMCI Xerox 7300 Series Users

3 Xerox WorkCentre 7300 Series Solution 1. From the Control Panel of the device, press the AutoStore button. Wait for the forms to load. 2. Select a file format for your scanned file, PDF or TIFF. File Formats Format Output Quality Purpose Portable Document Format (PDF) Tagged Image File Format (TIFF) Best for text and graphics Best for images PDFs are good for printing because they generate files that look most like the original document; furthermore, you can specify security settings for the document and select or copy text from the document. TIFFs are good for archiving because they retain all image data for superior image quality. The image quality will not degrade each time you edit or resave the file as long as you continue to save it as a TIFF file. TIFF files will save text as an image; you will not be able to select or copy text.

4 Xerox WorkCentre 7300 Series (continued) Solution Continued 3. Press the keyboard icon. Type your document name, and then press Enter. 4. Press the ellipses [ ] button next to the Command Share field. 5. Select your Command share (e.g., NAVAIR, NAVSEA), and press Save. 6. Verify the information is correct. Press the Scan button. 7. The MFD will display a window to indicate the job is in process until it sends the scanned document to the selected Command share. 8. Retrieve your scanned file(s); refer to Retrieve My Scanned Documents from a Command File Share (slides 12-13).

5 Using the Sharp AR Series MFD The Scan to File solution allows you to scan your documents through File Transfer Protocol (FTP). This article explains how to scan your document to your command's file share using the Sharp AR Series multi-functional device (MFD). Applies To All NMCI Sharp AR Series MFD Users NOTE: SReF MAC website:

6 Sharp AR Series 1. On the Sharp AR Series MFD, press the IMAGE SEND button. 2. On the LCD screen, press DATA ENTRY.

11 Sharp AR Series (continued) 10. Press AS-FTP. 11. Place the document on the scanning bed. 12. Press Start. 13. When the scan completes, the LCD will display the message "Job Stored." 14. Retrieve your scanned document from the appropriate command file share; refer to Retrieve My Scanned Documents from a Command File Share (slides 12-13).

12 Retrieve My Scanned Documents From a Command File Share After using Sharp AR, MX Series, HP M3035, Ricoh AFICIO C2500/C3000, Xerox WorkCentre 7300 Series, and HP 9200c/9250c series multi-functional devices (MFDs) to scan your documents, you can retrieve the scanned files from your Command's file share. Follow the following steps to locate your scanned files that the MFD has saved automatically to your Command's file share. Applies To All NMCI Sharp AR, MX Series, HP M3035, HP 9200c/9250c, Ricoh AFICIO C2500/C3000, and Xerox WorkCentre 7300 Series MFD Users

13 Retrieve My Scanned Documents From a Command File Share (continued) Solution 1. Double-click My Computer from your NMCI desktop. 2. Under Network Drives, double-click your Command's file share. 3. Double-click to open the Command file share. Your scanned document will be sent to a subdirectory on the Command file share. Note: You may need to navigate down several folders to find the document scanned in that designated folder. For example, you may choose NAWEBREMFS01\Scan_Share_KEYW$ as your file's destination on the device, but when retrieving that file from your seat, you will navigate to S:\CLF_NRFK_N57012\Scan_Docs_KEYW.
