2 INTRODUCTION The Athrodax Pre-vacuumed Wound Drainage System PREVAX was introduced in the United Kingdom in the early 1980 s. Athrodax was the first company to introduce pre-vacuumed disposable wound drainage systems into the United Kingdom. Previously the majority of wound drainage was carried out using a glass bottled (non-disposable) system, although some of the accessories, connecting tubes, drains etc, were disposable.
