1 BIOS CANADIAN ELITE ATHLETES ITU WORLD CUP TRIATHLON Canadian Elite (Women) Dominika Jamnicky Country: Canada Residence: Guelph (Ontario) Age: 24 years old ITU ranking: 74 th Dominika takes part in her first triathlon at the age of 12 in the Kids of Steel race in Cobourg (Ontario). She becomes an elite athlete in 2010 and climbs on the highest step of the podium at the Pan American Cup in Toronto in She captures a third place at the Tiszaujvaros ITU World Cup and at the 2016 CAMTRI Triathlon American Cup in Ottawa in July this year.

2 Paula Findlay Residence: Edmonton (Alberta) Age: 27 years old ITU ranking: 88 th Paula makes her introduction to triathlon in 2005, at 15 years old. Four years later, she wins bronze at the U23 World Championships in Gold Coast (AUS). In 2011, she becomes the first Canadian woman to win a WTS race. The following year, she represents Canada at the London Olympic Games. She continues to shine in 2014, capturing a second place in Cartagena(COL). She ranks 8 th at the London WTS in 2015 and wins the Tiszaujvaros(HUN) ITU World Cup. Kirsten Sweetland Residence: Victoria (British Colombia) Age: 28 years old ITU ranking: 104 th It is during a mini-triathlon at 7 years old that Kirsten got a taste for the sport. First Canadian to win the Junior World Championships in 2006, she finishes second a the 2010 U23 World Championships. She competes in the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow(SCO) in 2014 and ranks second. The following season on the WTS circuit, she finishes fourth in Stockholm (SWE) and 10 th in Edmonton. She will represent Canada in Rio.

5 Canadian Elite (Men) Xavier Grenier-Talavera Residence: Vaudreuil-Dorion (CAN) Age: 21 years old ITU ranking: 79 th First male Quebec triathlete to place top 20 in a World Cup race, to win a continental championship race and to be ranked in ITU ranking top 100. Grenier-Talavera is also member of Canada s national development team since U17 athlete of the year, 2010 and 2013 Elite male athlete of the year, 2014 Junior athlete of the year, and 2015 Nomination, Elite athlete of the year; he accumulates Triathlon Québec awards. First place at the North American Junior Championships 2014 in Sarasota (USA), second at the ITU CAMTRI American cup in Lima (PER) 2015 and at the at the ITU Pan-American sprint distance Championship in Sarasota (USA) last March. Matthew Sharpe Residence: Victoria (CAN) Age: 25 years old ITU ranking: 83 th 2010 Junior and 2012 U23 Canadian champion, Matthew Sharpe made is elite debut at the 2014 Glasglow (SCO) Commonwealth s games. Second in 2015 at Mooloolaba OTU Triathlon Oceania Cup (AUS) and at the Richmond CAMTRI Sprint Triathlon American Cup (USA). Last july, he climbed on the second step of the podium at the Tiszaujvaros ITU Triathlon World Cup s Semi-final (HUN).

ITU Canadian junior champion in 2014 he ranked sixth at the 2015 U23 ITU World Triathlon Grand Final Chicago (USA). It looks like 2016 is going to be a good year for Pennock with a first place at the Richmond (USA) CAMTRI Sprint Triathlon American Cup and a fifth place at the U23 West Des Moines (USA) CAMTRI Triathlon and Junior American Championships.
