2 About Moore Since 1856, men and women graduates of Moore College have been proclaiming Christ around the world. They were prepared for this wonderful responsibility through the College s in-depth theological training for Christian ministry and mission. Moore College training integrates the development of knowledge, character and competence for Christian ministry. Students come to know God more deeply as they are taught to understand and teach the Scriptures with an emphasis on Biblical Theology. Knowledge of God and his purposes leads to a deeper love for God and people. Love compels us to want to develop the competencies and practical ministry skills necessary for a lifetime of service. 3 Moore College graduates serve in cities and rural areas all around Australia and the world, in churches, university ministry, theological education, school ministry, Bible translation, evangelism, church planting, literature production, music ministry, hospital and prison chaplaincy. Moore College has been blessed with a student body comprising people from all over the globe, shaping and expanding one another s mission heart and service. At Moore College students receive a strong foundation in being able to understand and teach the Bible, which is the basis for all effective Christian mission. Students are firmly grounded in evangelical theology, which equips them to deal with unusual, difficult and new situations that they come across in other cultures by providing a strong biblical basis for their listening, analysing, communication and behaviour. All students are trained in principles of cross-cultural understanding, including describing, explaining and connecting with people from other cultures and worldviews. Each year students can put these principles into practice as they plan, participate in and reflect on a week-long College mission to local, regional, overseas and Muslim contexts. The Diploma of Bible and Missions has subjects such as History of Christian Mission, Christian Communication in Mission, Understanding Buddhism and Islam, and Evangelistic Apologetics. These provide in-depth study of many issues in contemporary mission. The College has weekly visits from practitioners of mission and ministry of various kinds, particularly cross-cultural mission, so that students can receive regular input about how God is acting in the world, and be challenged about where God might have them serve.

4 MOORE COLLEGE UNDERGRADUATE COURSES Y Diploma of Bible and Missions (DipB&Miss) (1 year full-time/part-time available) Designed to prepare men and women for crosscultural ministry or to return to the workforce as better equipped Christians. The broad biblical, theological and ministerial foundation provided in this course enables graduates to grow in their knowledge and love of God, and their ability to serve him and other people across cultures. This diploma includes the core subjects of the first year of the Bachelor of Divinity in the fields of Biblical studies, Doctrine and Ministry. The specialist subjects in this diploma include History of Christian Mission, Christian Communication in Mission, Understanding Buddhism and Islam, and Evangelistic Apologetics. Y Diploma of Bible and Ministry (DipB&Min) (1 year full-time/part-time available) Designed to prepare men and women for lay ministry in a congregation or a Christian organisation. The broad biblical, theological and ministerial foundation provided in this course enables graduates to grow in their knowledge and love of God, and their ability to serve him and his people. This diploma includes the core subjects of the first year of the Bachelor of Divinity in the fields of Biblical studies, Doctrine and Ministry. Specialist subjects in this diploma include Evangelistic Ministry, Church History and Congregations and Lay Ministry Foundations which equips the student with skills in ministry pastoral education. Diploma students who wish to continue their studies can transfer to Second Year of the degree course. Greek 1 studies are required.

5 Y Bachelor of Divinity (BD) (4 years year 1 may be part-time) Designed to prepare men and women for full-time, long-term Christian ministry in a variety of contexts. The substantial biblical, theological and ministerial foundation provided in this course enables graduates to exercise ministries and provide discerning Christian leadership in a range of cross-cultural settings. Rigorous study of the Word of God in its original languages and examination of Christian thought from around the world and down through the ages prepares graduates for the challenge of taking an unchanging gospel to people from every language, nation and people group. Y Bachelor of Theology (BTh) (3 years year 1 may be part-time) Designed to prepare men and women, who wish to graduate after three years, for full-time, longterm Christian ministry in a variety of contexts. This degree is fully nested within the Bachelor of Divinity (BD) and consists of all subjects of the first three years of the BD. A youth ministry strand is available with specialist electives.
