6 Freedom, Independence (and a safety net if you need it)! 10 Cape Tribulation Tourist visa Cape TribuCape Tribulation is a unique place as it is the only place worldwide where two World Heritage sites meet. The lush rainforests of Northern Queensland and the Great Barrier Reef meet here with just a thin stretch of beach in between them. This beautiful area is ideal for walks and you are sure to be stunned by the gigantic trees, waterfalls and lakes this area contains. Just be sure never to go out wandering on your own as it is easy to get lost in the vastness of the rainforest! The choice is yours! The one thing you must keep in mind when you read this brochure and speak with our team is that you are free to do what you want when you want on our program. The Working Holiday Visa If you are from Hong Kong and you are aged between 18 and 31 years old then you could qualify for a Working Holiday Visa in Australia. It is a requirement that you are a resident of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), and have a valid BNO or HKSAR passport. Besides that the Australian Embassy would like to see a minimum proof of funds of AUD5,000 or HKD20,000 at the time that you apply for the visa. Work & Travel Company Hong Kong will send you the application form and help you with filling it out by explaining the questions in normal language for you. It is now also possible to apply for the visa online and of course Work & Travel Company Hong Kong will help you with this. Once you have received the visa, you need to arrive in Australia within one year of that date. The visa officially commences upon arrival in Sydney and allows you to work and travel in Australia for up to one year. Keep in mind that you can only apply for the Working Holiday visa once in your life. If you would rather just travel in Australia or are older than 31, then you can travel to Australia on a tourist visa. With the tourist visa you can stay in Australia for a linked period of 3 months. For a fee, the tourist visa can also be extended to 6 months. To apply for this visa, you do not have to have the China Hong Kong nationality. Work & Travel Company Hong Kong will arrange this visa for you, if you want the 6 month tourist visa then talk to one of our staff about what is needed. They are more than willing to help you out! This visa also needs to be used within a year of receiving it. With the tourist visa you are not allowed to do any paid work but you can work for room and board and do voluntary work. An example is the WWOOF program, a voluntary farm work program where, in exchange for a few hours work each day, you get free board and meals. This program is an excellent way to get a true feel of the Australian way of life on farms! Flight routes Work & Travel Company Hong Kong will assist you with your flight arrangements upon request. You can only apply for the Working Holiday before you turn 31, if you are already 31, then you can join the You First Program on a tourist visa. Of course in this case you won t be able to work paid jobs in Australia. When can I apply? The main rule that applies here is; if you have decided to travel to Australia on our You First Program, you should apply as quickly as possible to make sure you are well prepared. Keep in mind that the group sizes are limited, so the earlier you apply the more chance there will be that you can depart in the month of your choice! It is best to apply at least 8 weeks before you would like to leave, but if you want to leave within 8 weeks, please contact us directly to discuss if this will be possible. How can I apply? You can apply by filling out the application form included as an insert in this brochure. You can either send a cheque together with your application form or come into our office and apply in person. General Conditions 1. Work & Travel Company Hong Kong will be able to help you with your visa application, however, the applicant is responsible for paying the visa processing fee charged by the Australian Consulates General. 2. There will not be any refund if the applicant wishes to withdraw his/her application due to personal reasons. 3. An administrative charge of HKD500 shall be levied by Work & Travel Company Hong Kong if visa application is refused. What next? 1. After we receive your application, we will send you a package with information. In there you will find all the details on the Working Holiday visa application, an application form for our special Work & Travel Insurance, general travel information on Australia and the payment slip for the rest of the program.
