1 It was November, 1927 an elegant new theater opened its doors on Post Avenue in Westbury. A Clara Bow film graced the screen with a glamorous show on the stage. The opening night audience was wowed by the striking English style interiors, the expansive auditorium, the splendid acoustics and the most advanced theatrical technology. The Westbury Theater flourished until changing times and tastes saw its closure. Eight years ago Cyrus Hakakian and his partners saved the Westbury Theater from demolition. His vision was to preserve the grandeur of the original theater while re-purposing the facility to accommodate all aspects of entertainment from concerts to legitimate theater, from film festivals to telecasts of grand opera. With its state of the art lighting and sound systems, and flexible seating plan, those considering the new facility for their pre-broadway engagement, product announcement, corporate meeting, industrial show, art installation or milestone celebration will marvel at the limitless possibilities.

While retaining the grand elements of the original structure, The Space has been enhanced by re-defining the height of the auditorium, adding a new floor that can accommodate any number of configurations including traditional seating, seating at tables or leaving the space open for standing and dancing. The balcony and loge can also be partitioned off from the orchestra as separate events take place in their own defined sections. 8 A new lower level contains state of the art dressing rooms. The comfortable facilities within the lower level have easy access to the stage and north and south load-in docks. In addition, a new structure has been added behind the original stage wall featuring the new load-in dock, as well as a convenient crossover with space for a Green Room and additional dressing room.
