1 Ben Lomond High School Boy Scout Merit Badge Schedule Summer 2015 Dear Scout, Scout Leader, Parent, Ben Lomond High School will conduct merit badge classes through the month of June again this year. These classes will be taught on Ben Lomond s campus at th Street. For more information, call Michael Hogge at or at hoggem@ogdensd.org. Pre-registration will be held May 20 th and 21 st from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Ben Lomond High School. The registration site will be located on the north side of the new main building. Enter the parking lots on the east side of the school off of 7 th and 9th streets and look for signs. Additional registrations will take place on every Monday morning from 7:30 to 8:30 am beginning June 8 th through June 29 th. For additional registration, see Mr. Hogge in room E215 at noon each day. Due to building commitments, classes will begin June 8 th. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis and will continue through the program or until the classes are filled. A registration form is required for each scout registering. A copy can be found on the reverse of this form. Additional copies will be available at registration. (Also feel free to make as many copies as you may need.) The Swimming and Lifesaving merit badges will not be offered this year, the Ben Lomond pool is closed for remodeling. They should return for the 2016 sessions. The following merit badges will be offered this year: American Heritage Digital Technology (new) Robotics Camping*@ Safety Scouting Heritage Family Life* Sports World* Golf Traffic Safety Collections Moviemaking Weather Communications* Fitness*@ Cooking*@ (new) * indicates a merit badge required for the rank of indicates a merit badge with a requirement that exceeds the time frame of the class. The cost will be $12.00 per merit badge class. Checks should be made payable to Ben Lomond High School or BLHS. There will be no refunds given after the first day of the class. Maximum class size is approximately 30 scouts (First Aid and Preparedness are limited to 20 scouts). Scouts enrolling First Aid merit badge should have completed or be working on the Tenderfoot, Second and First Class first aid requirements. These classes are to assist scouts to become proficient merit badges of their choice and are not an automatic sign-off. Scouts should come prepared with materials to take notes. Scouts taking Swimming and Lifesaving should come prepared to swim on the first day of class. No Scout will be reviewed until he has a blue merit badge card properly filled out. Instructors do not provide blue cards. Each scout may make an appointment with the instructor to pass off the merit badge on the last two days of the class. They may also return during the following weeks, visit the counselor at their home or pass off with any registered merit badge counselor. Partial completions will be given on completed work. All instructors are registered merit badge counselors. See reverse for a complete schedule of classes.

To register: (1) Complete the information requested space below. (2) Circle the desired classes. (3) Bring this form to the registration station for the corresponding week. (4) The recorder will enroll the scout appropriate class and mark this form. (5) Take this form to the cashier, each class costs $12. Make checks payable to Ben Lomond High School or BLHS. No refunds will be given after the first day of class. (6) Send this form with the scout the first day help them find their classes.
