The building is situated in the Bjørvika neighborhood of central Oslo, at the head of the Oslofjord. John Ashton has been the executive director of the University of Utah Alumni Association since Prior to that he served as its president and a board member while practicing law in Salt Lake City. He has been a member of the University s Board of Trustees and the University of Utah Hospital board. John has served as the secretary, vice president and president of the Council of Alumni Association Executives and as the alumni track chair for the 1995 CASE District VII conference. He has also served on the CASE Alumni Relations Commission and the CASE District VII board. He has B.S. and J.D. degrees as well as a certificate in dispute resolution from the University of Utah. Kirk Jowers Director, Hinckley Institute and Federal Relations, and Chief Advisor, Office for Global Engagement Kirk L. Jowers is the director of the University of Utah s Hinckley Institute of Politics and External Relations. He also is the chief advisor to the Office for Global Engagement and an associate professor of Political Science at the U. In addition, he is a partner in the Washington, D.C., law firm of Caplin & Drysdale s Political Law practice. Mr. Jowers currently serves on more than a dozen boards and committees, including as a member of Governor Herbert s Advisory Team, and a founding member and executive committee member of Count My Vote. He previously served as chairman of the Governor s Commission on Strengthening Utah s Democracy, a member of the Utah Constitutional Revision Commission,

5 and chairman and general counsel of Governor Mitt Romney s Commonwealth PACs. Mr. Jowers has provided legal and political advice to state and national political parties, more than 30 congressional and gubernatorial candidates, Fortune 500 corporations, nonprofit organizations, and five presidential campaigns. Described by The Salt Lake Tribune as the most quoted man in Utah, he is a frequent media commentator and lecturer on politics, policy matters, campaign finance laws, government ethics, and the First Amendment, and is the author of several publications. He is a graduate of the University of Utah and Harvard Law School and is the 2007 recipient of the University of Utah s Par Excellence Award. 7 3 p.m. National Museum of Art, Architecture and Design National Gallery, Universitetsgata 13, 0164 Oslo, Norway The National Museum of Art, Architecture and Design in Oslo is the national museum of art of Norway. The National Gallery was established in 1842 following a parliamentary decision from 1836 and it is administratively a part of the National Museum of Art, Architecture and Design.
