1 Programme UiT International Staff Week November Monday Arrival at Tromsø Airport Transport in Tromsø The Airport Bus stops at several hotels in town and costs NOK 80, return ticket NOK 120. Airport Bus Flybussen Tromsø A taxi from the airport to town costs around 200 NOK. Taxis wait in front of the airport and different taxi stations in town. There are two main taxi operators in Tromsø, if you are in need to call a taxi: o Din Taxi o Tromsø Taxi Public transport to Campus by bus is convenient in Tromsø. The price for a one way ticket is NOK 50. A bus card for 7 days costs for NOK 250, for one day NOK 90. You can by a TromsCard MINI at the Service Centre of the Tromsø Traffice Centre in town or through a MOBILE APP called Troms Mobillett. She will be giving more details about services for international students provided by the Counselling Centre. After the information session, Line will give you a guided tour on campus to see some of the facilities, including a visit to the student s sports centre. The presentation and Campus tour will take about 2 hours and is offered in both Wednesday and Thursday 9 11 III. 6 17:00 Northern Lights Tour to Sommarøy A bus is waiting for us in front of the SAS Radisson Blue Hotel to take us to Sommarøy, one of the most popular sightseeing spots outside of Tromsø. The drive takes around an hour. There is no guarantee for Northern Lights, but we hope the gods are with us and we have a spectacular evening at the basecamp of Northern Lights Tromsø AS and Nature and Challenge AS. Included in the tour are outdoor teambuilding activities, a warm soup, coffee, tea, water and cookies. Other drinks can be bought with either credit card or cash. Prepare for cold, wind and wet weather: o warm, water resistant outdoor shoes o warm, wind and water resistant cloths o warm cap and gloves o warm underwear can be recommended We will be back in Tromsø around 23:00, with some flexibility according to weather conditions. The tour is free of charge for our international guests.
