1 ESCL-Sports Caribbean League Limited (ESCL) Games-Con DotA 2 Tournament Official Tournament Rules August 29 th, ESCL, the host of the tournament, is proud to present the Games-Con DotA 2 Tournament at the Teaching Learning Complex, UWI, St. Augustine. These Official Tournament Rules ( The Tournament Rules ) outline the rules for tournament play ( the Game Play Rules ) which are included below, and eligibility requirements to register and participate in the Tournament. You need to read and agree to the Tournament Rules in order to register and participate. 2. Sponsors: To be announced. 3. Eligibility: You must be at least thirteen (13) years of age or older to register and play in the Tournament. All Tournament players agree to abide by the Tournament Rules, Game Play Rules, and decisions of the Host which are binding and final. IF YOU DO NOT MEET THESE ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS YOU CANNOT REGISTER/PARTICIPATE IN THE TOURNAMENT. 4. Gaming Equipment: All Players will utilize computer equipment provided by ESCL during the Tournament. No player shall be allowed to bring and use their own PC. Players MUST utilize their own keyboards, mice and headsets. These devices must be plug and play compatible with the computer equipment provided by ESCL. 5. Minimum Number of Teams/Unforeseen Difficulties: The Host reserves the right to cancel the tournament if less than six (6) teams register. The Host also reserves the right to cancel, or modify the Tournament, in the event of any technical and/or equipment failure, power failure or any other unforeseen event makes the Tournament, in the sole discretion of the Host, unfair or impractical to conduct as planned. Teams will be refunded if the tournament has been permanently cancelled. 6. Teams: Each team shall consist of a minimum of Five (5) Players and a maximum of Six (6) One (1) Substitute allowed. 7. Tournament Venue: Teaching Learning Complex, St. Augustine. Each team must play together from within the facility.

Tournament Date and Time: The Tournament will take place on Saturday 29 th August Registration will begin promptly at 7:30 a.m. Tournament play will commence at 8:00 a.m. and conclude when the Tournament is completed. Refunds will not be given to those who have to or want to leave before the conclusion of the tournament. Tournament Brackets will be randomly generated at 7:45 a.m. 9. Registration and Fees: Players can register for the Tournament by visiting the ESCL website esportscaribbean.com Registration opens from June 22 nd and closes on August 22 nd. Registration fee is $ per person/$ for a team consisting a 5 players and $ for a team including on substitute player. No additional fees are required i.e. Players are not required to purchase tickets to enter the venue. 10. Game Play Rules: The Game Play Rules included herein shall govern all aspects of Tournament play. 11. Player Conduct: All Players must abide by ESCL's policies at all times. Any violation of ESCL s policies including offensive behaviour or language may result in disqualification from the Tournament. Players violating ESCL s policies may also be asked to leave the premises. The Dota Tournament will be managed by TTDC, under the purview of ESCL. Management of the event includes, but is not limited to moderation of the tournament, generation of tournament brackets, enforcing of rules and regulations (inclusive of administering any disciplinary actions which may be deemed appropriate by TTDC Admins), overseeing of casting and commentary services and overall execution of the Tournament as guided by ESCL policy. 12. Tournament Prizes: The first, second and third place teams, individually referred to as a prize recipient ( Prize Recipient ) will be awarded the prizes ( Prizes ) specified below. Prizes awarded per team. (Subject to change depending on sponsors) First Place Team: $10, Second Place Team: $3, Third Place Team: $1, General Release: Each Player agrees to release the Host and its subsidiaries, officers, directors, employees, agents, affiliates, and partners from any and all liability associated with the above Tournament including loss due to any technical failures, and any injuries, losses or damages, the cause of which is beyond the reasonable control of the Host. Furthermore, the Host will not be liable for any errors in any materials associated with the Tournament. 14. Use of Personal Information: Each Player agrees to allow the Host and its agents to use their personal and gamer names, and their individual images, in order to publicize the event and identify the winners in various publications, online forums and social media platforms, without compensation.

3 Game Play Rules DotA 2 These rules ( The Game Play Rules") set forth the rules of game play for the Games-Con DoTA 2 Tournament - at Teaching Learning Centre, University of the West Indies, presented by the Host. These Game Play Rules are part of the Official Tournament Rules outlined above. Please read the Game Play Rules carefully before submitting an entry or participating in the Tournament, as these Game Play Rules contain important information concerning rules and format of the Tournament. 1. Tournament Match Structure: Five-on-Five Match Play, Best of One Double Elimination. Knock out for all matches except for the Final Round which shall be Best of Three. Time permitting, the Semi-Finals and Loser Bracket Finals may be adjusted to Best of Three, with the Winner Bracket Semi-Finals receiving first preference for the aforementioned alteration. All matches are to be played at the indicated start time between two teams comprised of five players each. Match play shall not stop until the conditions for winning have been met. Conditions for winning include destroying the other team s Throne, when an opponent voluntarily concedes (calling the GG), or the opponent voluntarily disconnects from a server with the intention of stopping play. 2. DotA 2 Version Tournament mode shall be utilized throughout the Tournament. 3. How to Win the Tournament: The winners of each Knock Out match continue to advance to compete against the winners of other matches in their respective brackets, until two finalists are left. The finalists compete in a Best of Three match to determine the overall Tournament winner and second place finisher. 4. Match Scheduling: All Matches are scheduled using bracket generator randomized. All rounds will be Knock Out matches except for the Finals which will be Best of Three ( BO3 ). Competing teams will be entered into a single tournament bracket. A Tentative Schedule will be provided on the day of the event, which shall be used as a general guideline for match scheduling. 5. Match Start Time: Once you have received the schedule, please make it a priority to be on time for your match. Should a problem occur, contact an ESCL/TTDC Official. Any clarification/update on Match times will be made known to players.

4 6. Match Delays: If a Player/Team fails to report for their match within five (5) minutes of the match announcement, they will forfeit their Match. If both Players/Teams forfeit their Match, and a subsequent drop/elimination will ensue based on their current placement in their respective bracket. 7. Match Reporting: To report a match, the winning Team must submit the results to a TTDC Tournament Official. 8. Forfeits: Forfeits are defined as (1) Failing to show up for a scheduled match as outlined above in the Match Delays section, (2) any Player that fails to make contact with their opponent and fails to show for an officially scheduled ESCL match/round, or (3) by ruling of a Tournament official for violation of one of the included rules, or violation of one of ESCL's policies. Players are responsible for obtaining information regarding brackets, match times and scheduling information. 9. Sportsmanship: All Players will be required to uphold and observe a universal level of sportsmanship. Unsportsmanlike conduct includes, but is not limited to, racism, use of profanity, rude acts, vulgar acts, acts of belligerence, and disrespect of an ESCL/TTDC Official. Unsportsmanlike conduct may be disputed and may be grounds for Player Disqualification by an Official. Rulings on unsportsmanlike actions are subject to the Official s interpretation and assessment of seriousness. If a Player is found in violation of this rule the following actions may happen: (1) Minor infractions as judged by an Official will result in a Warning, and (2) Severe infractions, or repeated minor infractions, as judged by an Official will result in Disqualification. Any accusations of unsportsmanlike conduct by a Player must be brought to the attention of an Official by filing a dispute following the Match in which the alleged action has occurred, for investigation by a presiding Official. The decisions of the Official in all matters relating to the Matches are entirely at their discretion and no correspondence or debate will be entered into with Players with regard to any Official decision. 10. Game Accounts/ID: Players are required to use their own DotA 2 account (Steam Profile). Players may only play on their own account during the entirety of an ESCL Event. Players MUST also use the same Callsign/In-Game Name throughout the entirety of the event.

5 11. Match Hosting Information and Requirements: a. A coin toss will determine which Team will get side choice, First Pick/Ban. b. Side Choice: Radiant (Green) or Dire (Red) c: Matches will be hosted either by a presiding Admin or Caster/Streamer. 12. Game Play: A. Competition Method: 5 vs. 5 B. Maps allowed: Tournament C. Mode: Captains Mode D. Game Length: Until one team is victorious, as per criteria outlined in Rule Three (3). 13. Draft mode = Captains Mode. Details proceed as follows; Ban- Ban -Ban- Ban Pick- Pick- Pick -Pick Ban- Ban- Ban- Ban Pick- Pick- Pick- Pick Ban Ban Pick Pick The captain selects bans for certain heroes, preventing either team from picking the hero. The captain also chooses five heroes for their team. After the captains choose five heroes, each player chooses a hero from their captain's selections. 30 seconds are allotted for bans, and 40 seconds for picks. Each captain has 110 seconds total bonus time that can be used throughout any selection. If time runs out during a ban selection, no hero will be banned; if time runs out during a pick selection, a random hero will be chosen If the Captain fails to choose a hero within the given time, and a Random Hero is chosen, the Match will NOT be restarted, the draft will proceed. 14. Game Exploits and Violations: a. There are no item or hero restrictions (except those that exist within Tournament Mode. At the discretion of the ESCL official, restrictions may be added while the tournament is in progress if there are known bugs/exploits. b. No looking at the other teams monitors during Tournament Play. c. Any signs of cheating may result in the Forfeit of the match, disqualification from the Event, and ejection from the venue for that Team. d. Upon an unintentional player disconnect, the match will be paused until disconnect player returns to the match.

6 e. Pausing is allowed if a player unintentionally disconnects from the match. The team which experiences a player disconnect can pause and then must notify the opposing team and presiding Admin of the disconnection. Item bugs and server issues will be accepted as valid reasons for pausing. Intentional pausing may result in the forfeit of match. All pauses must be communicated to an ESCL/TTDC official. Failure to report/indicate pauses after first warning will result in forfeit. Tac Pauses are NOT allowed, and will result in instant disqualification from the Tournament, if it is deemed so by an Official. Pauses may be allowed for equipment failure, but NOT calibration. f. Substitutions may not occur once the tournament has officially started. Officially started refers to the start of game play between both teams. A substitution may occur at any time prior to the beginning of the team s first official match. If a player cannot continue play after a match has concluded, the sub may be used. This does NOT apply during gameplay. g. Players will compete using a LAN/Local Lobby format. Persons outside the venue may spectate the games through the in-client delayed stream. Tournament administrators or shout-casters are the only two parties allowed to enter Tournament games other than the players, by occupying Broadcast Slots. h. In-person ghosting or information relayed by a third party about another team is NOT allowed and will result in instant disqualification. i. Rematches will be determined at the sole discretion of an ESCL/TTDC official and only under extreme circumstances. IF a remake occurs, All Pick mode will be selected, Teams will choose the same sides as the previous games and pick the same heroes as previously drafted. j. Players are NOT allowed to begin a Tournament match with active personal/mobile devices. These include, but are not limited to; Cell Phones, Electronic Tablets, Smart Watches, pagers, any communication device. These devices may only be kept on person if they are switched OFF. Otherwise they must be secured by the owner. k. If it is determined the player intentionally left the match or disconnected during the banning phase for any reason other than an emergency, the entire team will be disqualified. If a relog/client restart etc. is needed during this phase, players must indicate this to an official who will approve or deny the request.
