The Philippine Cultural Educational Program (PCEP) is the cultural education arm of the NCCA envisioned a nation of culturally literate and empowered Filipinos. We are tasked to ensure that culture must be the foundation of Philippine education and governance for sustainable development. It shall also develop among Filipinos greater awareness, understanding and appreciation of our culture and arts towards the evolution of a consciousness that will improve the quality of our lives. The Sub-commission on Cultural Education composed of the NCCA Committee on Communication, Committee in Education and the Committee on Language and Translations have agreed in 2013 to highlight Cultural Dissemination by an annual event called DIWANG means soul or spirits to celebrate our culture and our cultural icons (Sagisag Kultura) in our schools, in media and among the academe in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. The Sagisag Kultura (SK) ng Filipinas aims to promote, appreciate and disseminate the cultural icons of the country, creating a database and registry of these symbols of Philippine culture. 3 Only one top examiner from each region shall be accepted to the National Kwiz finals to be held on September 30, 2015 in Metro Manila. Each national participant is allowed to have their own official Coaches-Teacher to serve as mentor in reviewing the Sagisag Kulturang Filipino that can be found at NCCA websites ( and to other PCEP Instructional Material Publications. In view of the above, we would like to follow up from your office the appointment of MS. JULIET JERUTA, as Regional Coordinator of this project and perform the following tasks: 1. Have close coordination with PCEP Secretariat thru Ms. Alpha Ruiz for other project details; 2. Look for a free use of examination venue that can accommodate 200 participants from 7am-12nn; 3. Conduct screening of the 200 grade 7-8 participants from private and public schools in the region; 4. Provide three (3) assistants for the conduct of the examination; 5. Provide snacks for the 200 participants charge to your local funds. Likewise, as coordinator NCCA-PCEP will provide him/her Php 5, subject to 10% tax after accomplishing the assigned tasks. Implementation Date: February to October 2015 Source of Fund: Sub-Commission on Cultural Dissemination Board Resolution Number Ang 3rd DIWANG: SAGISAG KULTURA NG FILIPINAS ay isang institutional flagship project ng NCCA Sub-Commission on Cultural Dissemination - kasama nito ang Lupon ng Communication, Cultural Education, and Language and Translation. Laman ng proyektong ito ang mga programang magpapakilala, magpapahalaga at magpapalaganap ng mga imahen at sagisag kultura ng Fiiipinas upang maging larnan ng kamulatan at diwa ng iahat ng Fiiipino na magiging hulmahan ng kaniyang identidad bilang lahi. Ginanap ang unang DIWANG noong 2013 sa 17-Regihiyon na may kategorya RAP Contest para sa elementary, Kwiz para sa high school at Lesson Exemplar Contest para sa mga guro. Nagkaroon ito ng regional elimination at 3 sub-island cluster level at ang mga napili ay silang naglaban sa final round na ginanap sa Maioios, Buiacan. Sa nakalipas na taon 2014, ang 2nd DiWANG ay nilalaman ng 5-kategorya kwiz para sa elementary at high school, Lesson Exemplar para sa mga guro, Local SK Exhibition para sa mga Schools / HEI's partners, Sagisag Kulturang Filipino Award para sa media at LGUs gayun din ang pagkiiala sa mga DepEd Regional Diwang Coordinators na may mahusay na naging paghahanda sa nakalipas na 2 taon. Ginaganap sa 17-Rehiyon ang mga eliminasyon, at nagkaroon ng 5 -sub-island level nasilang naglaban sa final round na ginanap sa Koronadal South Cotabato. Dahil ang DiWANG ay isang FLAGSHIP PROJECT ng Sub-Commission on Cultural Dissemination Committees, pinamamahalaan ito ng mga pinuno ng tatlong komite at sa kasalukuyan ang lupon ng 3rd DIWANG ay sina Orland Magno, Estrelita Tamano, Dr. Mario Ang SAGISAG KULTURANG FILIPINO COMPETITION ay pambansang tagisan sa pagkiiala sa mga Sagisag Kultura ng Fiiipinas ng mga mag-aaral sa Elementary at High School mula sa labimpitong (17) Rehiyon ng bansa kasama ng mga guro na may pag-aaral sa Cultural Education Courses at Kaguruang Makabayan Seminar na ipinagkaloob ng Pambansang Komisyon ng Kultura at mga Sining (NCCA) at mga katuwang na Higher Education Institutions. LAYUNINNG TAGISAN: 1. Maipakilala sa maraming guro at mag-aaral ang sagisag kulturang Filipino sa pamamagitan ng paligsahan sa pagsusulit; 2. Maipalaganap ang pagtuturo sagisag kulturang Filipino sa pamamagitan ng paligsahan na tatahakin ang mga larang Filipino, English, Math, Science, Soc'ai Studies, Values Education, Arts/Music, TLE at PE/Health;

Imimungkahi rin na pag-aralan ng lahat ng paaralan ang 2,000 Sagisag Kultura na matatagupuan sa NCCA website ( Maximum na 200-estudyante lamang ang bibigyang pagkakataong lumahok sa bawat Regional Examinations. Ang mga katanunangan sa eksaminasyon ay nilikha ng mga eksperto sa araling sagisag kultura ng Filipinas at sila din ang pangunahing mga guro na nagsaliksik at naglathala ng 2,000 sagisag. Ito ay sinuri at inapruban ng mga hurado kaya inaasahan na walang magiging sagabal habang nagaganap ang kompetisyon. 3. Ang mga katanungan sa Quiz / Final Competition ay magmurnula sa 2,000 Sagisag Kulturang Filipino na inilabas ng NCCA na matatagpuan sa NCCA website ( at sa iba pang instructional materials na nailathala na ng PCEP. 4. Mga Kategorya: EASY ROUND - Pagkilala sa Larawan ng Sagisag Kultura na may 1 puntos sa bawat tamang kasagutan; AVERAGE ROUND - Pagpili ng Titik ng Tamang Sagot na may 2 puntos sa bawat tamang kasagutan; At DIFFICULT ROUND - Pagkilala sa Sagisag Kultura mula sa lupon ng mga salita 5. Ang mga kasagutan ay isusulat lamang sa opisyal na papel at pen na binigay sa inyo ng NCCA. EASY ROUND Ang Easy Round ay pagkilala sa larawan ng sagisag kultura. May 15 katanungan para sa round na ito subalit 7 lamang ang inyong sasagutan at ito ay nakadepende sa numero na mabubunot. Ang mga larawang gamit ay ipapakita sa LCD projector. Sa hudyat na GO ay isusulat ang sagot. 10 segundo lamang ang pagkilala kasama na ang pagsulat ng sagot. Mali kung mali ang baybay.

9 Kapag narinig ang bell, ito ay hudyat upang bitawan ang panulat. Lalapit ang tagatama upang alamin kung nakuha ng tama ang kasagutan. Babasahin ang lipon ng mga saiita na magpapakifaia sa sagisag kultura ng isang beses. Sa hudyat na GO ay isusulat ang sagot. 15 segundo lamang ang pagkilala kasama na ang pagsulat ng sagot.
