Decrease carbon footprint for WtE facilities Technical challenges: Wet de-slagging at WtE facility This makes the ash stick together tightly Embedded fine NF particles are hidden in clogged minerals Separating heavy / light non ferro s: Conventional sink-float operations are not build for particle sizes < 10 mm Practical knowledge and experience (how does theory work out in practice?) Discharge of ash residue that is qualified as waste (EURAL Code ) Financial challenges: Optimise the balance between costs(capex and OPEX) and revenues related with bottom ash recycling Make use of low cost technologies and create the highest possible value from recovered materials
