1 On Saturday morning we met Sr Rosa at Michael's and Birgit's home. On our trip to Freiburg we had a first stop at Titisee where Sr Rosa made the acquaintance of a Black Forest celebrity in a souvenir shop: the Black Forest cuckoo clock. She obviously enjoyed all the cuckoos with their different sounds.

2 After a short walk to the lake and the treat of a big cup of ice cream our sightseeing tour went on towards St. Peter but first to the Lindenberg with its pilgrim's chapel Maria Lindenberg (Mary of the Linden Tree). We were lucky: the chapel was decorated for a wedding and we could admire the couple and the whole bridal party in front of the chapel. In the pilgrim's restaurant Sr Rosa then made the acquaintance of a second Black Forest celebrity: a piece of Black Forest cherry gateau. She affirmed that it tasted very good but we weren't quite sure

3 We continued the tour visiting the parish church St. Peter and then went straight on to Freiburg into the old city with its cathedral, town hall, its little lanes and creeks

4 After attending Sunday Service in St. George church in Buchheim our tour went across the border to France and following the Rhine river we reached Straßburg. Sr Rosa was surprised and happy when she realized that she had passed another border in a European country after Italy, Germany, Austria and Switzerland and that without any controls and hardly noticeable. Our program included visiting Petit France, the Cathédral Notre Dame de Strasbourg and a following one hour boat tour on the river Ill where we among others - passed the buildings of the European Parliament and the European Court. The tour impressed Sr Rosa as well as us very much.

6 After having some delicious ice cream we went back to our home Buchheim, where a small group of Linux4Afrika friends was already waiting for us in a restaurant. Sr Rosa reported on the work of the Sisters in Kenya and thanked everybody with Linux4Afika who have committed themselves for this project. With good food and interesting chats we were finishing this wonderful evening.

7 On Monday it was time for Sr Rosa to say good bye to Freiburg. Via the Black Forest we drove to Tutzing where we arrived at the guest house Maria Hilf shortly before the first match of the German team in the Soccer World Cup started. Our offer to watch the match together with us was not accepted by Sr Rosa. There were too many Sisters to whom Sr Rosa wished to say good bye and.. of course suitcases had to be packed. There was active support by Sister Magda, this wonderful Sister, who surprised us the next morning with a printout of an itinerary from Tutzing to the airport in Erding. Once and again we are being astonished about the Sisters's open and natural dealing with the computer and its opportunities (even by the older ones). The last trip of Sr Rosa's visit was to the airport on Monday morning. In spite of the tunnel being blocked in the north of Munich we arrived on time at the airport to experience a disaster with luggage at check-in. Sr Rosa had weighed her luggage with kitchen scales the day before and realized that with 37 kg she was 2 kg over her allowed weight. Scales at check-in claimed as did the young lady at the counter 43,5 kg. Removing a notebook from the suitcase only made a difference of mere 2,5 kg. A sad look of our Sister in her nun's habit wasn't enough, though, to reduce the extra charge of 110 EUR. HP had to tell a lot of more sad stories to persuade the staff having meanwhile increased to three ladies and a telephone partner in order to secure a reduction. But then the journey could begin. A mail on the next morning informed us that the trip home had gone punctually and without further problems and our Sr Rosa had arrived safely in Ruaraka.
