4 2 Location CONCEPT A spectacular natural setting located in Barra da Tijuca, connected to Lake Jacarepaguá with a backdrop of mountains designed so all apartments have views over the lake towards Barra s beaches or the Pedra Branca National Park. For the Olympic Games, 46% of athletes will live within ten minutes of their competition and training venues and 73% within 25 minutes. For the Paralympic Games, 68% of athletes will compete in competition venues located within ten minutes from the Village. Within walking distance are the sport precincts of Rio Olympic Park and Riocentro. Located in the Barra Cluster, the heart of the Games and the fastest growing residential area in the city of Rio de Janeiro. Unique design features, including the Olympic Village Training Center, the Olympic Village Park and nearby the Olympic Beach. A network of dedicated Olympic Lanes will connect the Village to all competition venues.

For the Paralympic Games, 68% of athletes will compete in competition venues located within ten minutes from the Village.

8 4 Residential Zone 48 - twelve storey apartment buildings distributed amongst 40 Hectares of land within the Residential zone. An internal ring road with a low noise, zero emission shuttle bus service with no resident more than 2 minutes from a bus stop. A Welcome Center, leading directly into the residential Zone. NOC Services Center, Sport Information Offices, Multi-faith centre, Fitness Centre and Entertainment Center all located along Rua Carioca, next to the Main Dining Hall. All apartments with one fully accessible bathroom compliant with the IPC accessibility guidelines. Average of 2:1 accessible/adaptable bathrooms for wheelchair athletes in each apartment.

18 6 Olympic Village Plaza Pedestrian promenade will connect a convenience services corridor through the Village, linking the Residential Zone and Olympic Village Plaza, and providing a strong orientation device. Inspired by the famous street life of Rio, with cafes, restaurants, juice and ice cream bars. Paving patterns echo the paved boulevards of Rio s beaches. 26 8 Olympic Village Delivery Developer market feasibility studies supported by a high demand for residential property in Barra da Tijuca. Financing fully guaranteed by Caixa Econômica Federal (CEF), the Federal Government owned Federal Savings Bank of Brazil. Developer owns the entire site and is fully committed to the project. Initial concept planning approvals obtained. Development timeline agreed with Developer and City Government. Village infra-structure work commencing Jan Games overlay delivered and financed by Rio Clear delineation of developer s site and the overlay site, ensuring no potential site ownership conflicts at time of handover.

27 9 Olympic Village Developer Carvalho Hosken entered the competitive national construction market in 1951, fully geared to meet the demands of a large emerging country. They participated actively in the construction of the new capital of Brazil, Brasilia. Under engineer Carlos Fernando Carvalho s command, the companys innovative achievements over its first two decades turned it into one of the most prestigious companies in the country after building more than 10 million square meters of residential and business developments. With his visionary character, Carvalho Hosken s C.E.O acquired significant land in Barra da Tijuca in the 1970s, predicting that Rio de Janeiro would expand in this area of the city. From that moment on, Carvalho Hosken developed audacious residential and commercial developments in vast tracts of land in the Barra da Tijuca region.
