2 Econosto UK Ltd supplies valves to industries all across the UK and Europe and as far afield as Australasia. From the company s inception in 1984 as Ball Valves UK Ltd a strategy of maintaining stock at levels that allowed rapid delivery of items normally associated with long lead times, ensured the company s place as a leader in the market. In 1998 the company was acquired by the Dutch Econosto Group as an integral part of its Flow and Sealing Technology division. The acquisition brought an array of complementary products and cost-effective own-brand ranges to the existing portfolio of quality, globally-recognised brands. In 2006 the company reflected this wider offering by changing its name to Econosto UK Ltd. In 2008 the Econosto Group was acquired by the ERIKS group nv as part of their strategy to strengthen their valve division, particularly in the UK. This development again opened up wider opportunities and new markets for Econosto UK Ltd. 3 Ball Valves Ball valves take a lead role in the valve industry and have wide-ranging applications. The high flow capacity coupled with being very simple to mechanise makes ball valves ideal for many applications where an open/close facility is required but not regulating of flow. Standard fittings can be modified to a customer s specification and they are easy-to-use and virtually maintenance free. Econosto UK supplies ball valves for all uses ranging from brass valves for use with water to flanged stainless steel for use with corrosive media. Modified or special valves can be supplied on request. 6 Butterfly Valves These valves can be used for many applications either as open/close or simple regulating valves. A useful characteristic of butterfly valves is the availability of different lining materials which allows for uses ranging from non-aggressive media such as water or air through to chemicals and corrosive media. 7 Knife Gate Valves Knife gate valves have widely been used in pulp or paper industry applications and for handling slurries but are also used in the offshore sector and are suitable for a wide range of wet or dry media. They can be supplied with uni or bi-directional cut-off and are ideal where quarter turn valves are unsuitable. Pressure Equipment Directive The Pressure Equipment Directive 97/23/EC designates the requirements for the design and manufacture of pressure equipment and assemblies with a maximum allowable pressure greater than 0.5 bar gauge (1.5 bar absolute). Econosto UK ensures all stock and modified product meets with the requirements of this directive and has worked with Lloyds Register Verification to gain approval to carry out modification work on CE marked valves.
