On a 22-day cruise-tour we will explore these contrasts in four different countries. Thailand s vibrant Bangkok is followed by Cambodia s magnificent temple of Angkor Wat, Phnom Penh s fragrant markets and the Cambodian National Museum. The story of Vietnam s history and culture is recounted in five chapters: Ho Chi Minh City, Nha Trang, Da Nang, Halong Bay and Hanoi. Finally, we arrive in Southeast Asia s most dynamic and multi-cultural world city, Hong Kong. Our cruise will include virtually all shore tours in these destinations and provide insights from distinguished lecturers on board on the art, history and culture of the region. There will also be time for our own walking tours and museum visits, and for individual and small group exploration. Countries to be visited include Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam and People s Republic of China. Our field visits and discussions can be adapted to history, geography and social studies curriculum needs for all grade levels, K-12. Of particular benefit to the teacher will be the first-hand experiences of cultural and historical sites, pivotal to understanding their contribution to the region, and a greater appreciation of multicultural diversity exhibited there.
