1 UNIVERSITY OF PERADENIYA VACANCIES Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons f the following posts in the University of Peradeniya. 1) FARM MANAGER (GRADE III) Salary Scale : Rs x (EB) x p.m. [U-EX 1(IV)] (Salary inclusive of all allowances would be Rs. 59,432/-) Should possess a four year degree in Agriculture from a recognized University/ HEI with not less than two (02) years of field experience in Crop, Husbandry and/ Animal Sciences in a recognized establishment after graduation. 2) AUDIO VISUAL TECHNICAL OFFICER (GRADE II) Salary Scale : Rs. 22,240 18x320 28,000 p.m. [U-MN 3(II)] (Salary inclusive of all allowances would be Rs. 53,384/-) (1) (a) Diploma in Technology of the Open University Special Engineering Apprenticeship Certificate issued from 1975 National Diploma f Engineering Technicians issued from 1989 by the National Apprenticeship Board National Diploma in Technology City and Guilds Final Certificate in the field of Electronics Power, together with one year s experience in relevant video wk. Diploma in Educational Technology Diploma in Audio Visual Techniques of a recognized Polytechnic University provided the courses f the Diploma in Educational Technology the Diploma in Audio Visual Techniques are of two years duration, with 01 year experience in relevant video wk. (c) Pass in 03 subjects at the G. C. E. (A/L) Examination in Science in one sitting and 06 years experience in Audio Visual wk (2) Age: Not me than 45 years. 1

2 3) WORKS SUPERINTENDENT (WORKSHOP) (GRADE II) (ENGINEERING WORKSHOP) Salary Scale : Rs x245; 13x p.m. [U-MT 1(I)] (Salary inclusive of all allowances would be Rs. 50,816/-) (1) (a) National Diploma in Technology equivalent qualifications and have at least four years experience in the relevant field after obtaining such qualifications. Note: Period of in-plant training will not be counted f the four years experience. National Certificate in Technology equivalent qualifications and have at least 10 years experience in the relevant field after obtaining such qualifications. (2) Age - Not me than 45 years 4) MARSHAL (GRADE II) Salary Scale : Rs x p.m. [U-MN 2 (II)] (Salary inclusive of all allowances would be Rs. 48,952/-) Qualifications : (1) (a) A graduate from a recognized University Physique : Height - 5'.5'' Chest - 32'' deflated (2) Age - Between years Note: Preference will be given to those who possess the following requirement/s. To those who are with fluency in Tamil Language (reading, writing and comprehension) To those who are with Police/ Armed Fces background and active participation in spts activities, social welfare activities within the University and at National level. 2

3 5) RADIOGRAPHER (GRADE II) Salary Scale : Rs x185; 9x p.m. [U-MT 1 (II)] (Salary inclusive of all allowances would be Rs. 47,176/-) Qualifications : (1) (a) G. C. E. (O/L) Examination in 06 subjects at not me than two sittings with credit passes in Sinhala / Tamil Language Literature, Mathematics, Science and one other subject. (c) Proficiency Certificate in Radiography from the School of Radiography, Ministry of Health of the Government of Sri Lanka. 03 years experience in the Department of Health as a Radiographer after obtaining the proficiency certificate in Radiography. Note: Preference will be given to the candidates who have passed 03 science subjects at the G. C. E. (A/L) Examination. (2) Age - Not me than 45 years 6) FARM SUPERVISOR (GRADE II) (VETERINARY TEACHING FARM- FACULTY OF VETERINARY MEDICINE & ANIMAL SCIENCE) Salary Scale : Rs x185; 9x p.m. [U-MT 1(II)] (Salary inclusive of all allowances would be Rs. 47,176/-) (1) (a) G. C. E. (O/L) Examination in six subjects at not me than two sittings with passes in Sinhala/ Tamil/ English Language Literature and Arithmetic/ Commercial Arithmetic/ Mathematics and Practical Farm School Certificate equivalent with 10 years experience in a state ganization after obtaining such certificate. School of Agriculture Diploma (Peradeniya Kundasale) equivalent with five years experience after such Diploma (2) Age - Not me than 45 years 3

4 7) SUPERVISOR (CIVIL) (GRADE III) Salary Scale : Rs x155; 10x p.m. [U-MT 1(III A)] (Salary inclusive of all allowances would be Rs. 44,256/-) (1) (a) National Certificate in Technology (Civil Engineering) equivalent qualifications with 3 years experience may be obtained while following the NCT Course. G. C.E. (O/L) Examination in 06 subjects at not me than two sittings with at least five years experience as a Supervis in the relevant field in a Government / Local Government State Cpation a recognized Engineering Establishment. (2) Age - Not me than 45 years General Notes: The University reserves the right to shtlist the candidates. The maximum age limit will not apply to employees of Government Departments/ Cpations. However, they should fward their applications through the Heads of respective Departments/ Cpations along with a certified statement of the present salary particulars. They may send an advanced copy of an application to the University directly. The applications which are not received through the proper channel on befe the closing date will not be considered. The selected candidates will become contributs to the Universities Provident Fund as well as of the Universities Pension Scheme, the contributions being 10% from the employee to the Provident Fund and 8% and 7% from the employer to the Provident Fund and Pension Fund respectively. A further contribution of 3% will be made by the employer to the Employees Trust Fund.
