(B) Humayun s Tomb, New Delhi NOV 04 - (Tue): DELHI- Morning tour of New Delhi; Designed in 1911 by the British, New Delhi is one of the greenest capitals in the world. Your tour includes visit to the impressive Qutab Minar, a 237-foot sandstone tower, an impressive monument built in Later, visit Humayun s Tomb, a predecessor to the famous Taj Mahal. Later, drive past the government buildings and presidential palace along the broad and majestic Rajpath and Diplomatic enclave. Visit a Temple of the Sikh, Gurudwara. You can watch (and join if you like) the langar, the voluntary group cooking and feeding program at the Gurudwara. Afternoon time for a Yoga session and informal talk about Yoga in India. (B) NOV 05 - (Wed): DELHI, JAIPUR- Drive to Jaipur, the rose-pink capital of Rajasthan. Surrounded on all sides by rugged hills and crowned with forts and palaces, Jaipur is aptly called the Pink City of India. Afternoon time for a Yoga session. (B) NOV 06 - (Thu): JAIPUR- Ascend the Amber Palace atop an elephant. Tour the City Palace, Jantar Mantar, an old astronomical observatory and also see the ornate and elaborate Hawa Mahal, the Palace of Winds. Take a Heritage walk, a unique way to explore the living traditions of the city. Explore the exotic and vibrant bazaars of Jaipur to sample the artistic wealth of this region. 4 Meet your India expert Tour Manager Arvind Sharma is a graduate in history with special interest in medieval history of India. His specialty includes the religion and culture of India. He has worked as a tour manager for over two decades and has escorted groups of distinguished guests from the U.S.A., U.K. and Europe to various parts of India. With his knowledge of the country, his friends in the Indian travel industry combined with his humor, enthusiasm and friendliness, he makes the ideal tour leader. He enjoys reading and yoga. Born in 1961, Arvind lives in the outskirts of Delhi with his wife. NOV 07 - (Fri): JAIPUR, AGRA- Today drive to Agra, visiting en route the ornate step-well at Abhaneri and Fatehpur Sikri, the once fabled Moghul capital. The earliest reference to Agra is in the epic The Mahabharat. Ptolemy, Alexander the Great s geographer also called it Agra. It was, however, in the medieval period that Agra earned prominence as a capital city under the Mughals. (B) NOV 08 - (Sat): AGRA - This morning, experience the wonder and beauty of the iconic Taj Mahal. We also visit Agra Fort and learn about the arts of this region with visits to two private collections. During our extended visit to Taj Mahal we will get an opportunity to do some Yoga under a tree in the gardens of Taj Mahal. (B) NOV 09 - (Sun): AGRA, DELHI, DEHRADUN, RISHIKESH- Morning drive to Delhi airport for our flight to Dehradun. On arrival we drive to our resort next to the fast flowing River Ganges, Rishikesh, often touted as the world capital of Yoga. This is a charming retreat in the sanctum of Rishikesh, a land where spirituality and mother nature blend into a heady concoction. Literally, Amritsar means Pool of Nectar referring to the sacred tank around which the Sikhs Golden Temple is built. Golden Temple is the holiest shrine of the Sikh Exterior view of Moksha Hotel, Moksha religion and is also known as the Hari Mandir, the residence of God. Golden Temple is a two-storied marble structure with a blend of Hindu and Muslim architecture and has a golden dome, which is said to be gilded with 100kg of pure gold, and is supposed to represent an inverted lotus flower. (B) NOV 16 - (Sun): AMRITSAR- Morning tour of Amritsar city including visit to the Golden Temple, Jallianwala Bagh and Durgiana Temple and walk in Guru Bazaar. Afternoon we will witness the flag down ceremony at the Wagah Indo- Pakistan border. Evening re-visit the Golden Temple to witness the prayer ceremonies. Final payment is due 90 days (Aug. 01, 2014) prior to departure. This trip will operate with a minimum of 15 travelers. TOUR ARRANGEMENTS: No refunds are made for any missed services including hotel accommodations and meals. CANCELLATION: If you must cancel your trip, your deposit and all payments will be refunded, less a cancellation fee. If written notice of cancellation is received more than 90 days prior to departure, the fee is $350. For days, 50% of the tour cost, days, 75% of the tour cost, after that 100% of the tour cost.
