11 PROTECTION Sensi-Care Protective Barrier Skin Protectant n Helps protect the skin from irritation due to incontinence or wound drainage that may increase the risk of skin breakdown which can lead to infection, and protects weepy denuded skin n Protects minor skin irritation associated with diaper rash and helps seal out wetness n Helps treat and prevent diaper rash n Temporarily protects and helps relieve chapped or cracked skin Instructions For Use* n A practical tip would be to apply with moistened gloves initially in a thin layer in one direction. Apply second layer. This will prevent the balling up of the barrier. Apply after each cleansing and as often as necessary after each incontinent episode n To avoid skin irritation, do not rub in or rub off! n It is not necessary to completely remove when cleansing n Gently cleanse when soiled, top layer will be wiped off. Reapply top layer after cleansing. n For diaper rash, change wet/soiled diapers promptly, cleanse diaper area and allow to dry before application n If the Sensi-Care Protective Barrier looks dry or has a cracking appearance, or if the skin around the area where the barrier is being applied looks like it is peeling or looks dry, an assessment should take place. The assessment should determine if 1) the product needs to be continued or 2) the situation has been resolved and they can switch to Aloe Vesta Protective Ointment n To remove all layers (for evaluation, or if product is no longer necessary) wipe off top layers of Sensi-Care Protective Barrier, then spray with Aloe Vesta Cleansing Foam, Sensi-Care Perineal Skin/Cleanser or Aloe Vesta Perineal/Skin Cleanser, let soak, then wipe off. 14 PROTECTION DuoDERM Extra Thin Dressing PROTECTION Instructions For Use n Gently cleanse wound with normal saline or a nontoxic wound cleanser (eg, SAF- Clens AF Dermal Wound Cleanser) n Dry surrounding skin assuring it is free of any grease n Select a dressing size. Allow a minimum of 3 cm or beyond red edges at the wound margin n For deep wounds fill dead space with an appropriate wound product (eg, hydrating gel or exudate management product) n Minimize finger contact with adhesive surface n Hold the dressing over the wound, line up center of dressing with center of wound n Gently roll the dressing in place without stretching n Mold in place for 30 seconds to secure n Secure dressing edges with hypoallergenic tape if needed n Leave the dressing in place up to 7 days unless it is uncomfortable, leaking or there are clinical signs of infection* Please refer to package insert for complete indications and Instructions for Use.
