Circuit Emulation Over IP / Ethernet TDM PBX Interconnect Over IP IP Tube for T1/E1 Circuit Extension over IP The IP Tube transparent operation maintains the proprietary signaling required to support PBX features such as call conferencing, call forwarding, caller ID and SS7. Legacy phone equipment investment is preserved. Available with Integrated Echo Cancellation and Lossless Data Compression. T3 Over IP Ethernet T3 Voice, Video and Data over IP The IP Tube T3 encapsulates T3 circuits into IP and Ethernet packets. The conversion of T3 circuits into packets enables organizations to dramatically reduce leased line costs by exploiting the efficiency of Ethernet networks. E3 Over IP Ethernet E3 Voice, Video and Data over IP The IP Tube E3 encapsulates E3 circuits into IP and Ethernet packets. The conversion of E3 circuits into packets enables organizations to dramatically reduce leased line costs by exploiting the efficiency of Ethernet networks. 2.
LAN to LAN Tunnel / Ethernet VPN Ethernet VPN or Non-routable protocols over IP The IP Tube E2 creates an Ethernet VPN for transparent extension of a private LAN across the public Internet or other third party networks. Create a virtual private network or transport legacy and non-routable protocols over IP networks. Serial Data Connection Over IP Connection of Serial Data over IP Ethernet The IP Tube SER serial interface product line connects Serial Data Encryptors and other serial devices to IP networks. Type 1 synchronous serial bulk rate encryptors such as KIV7, KIV-19, OMNIxi and KG-84 can be used in IP and Ethernet applications. With a wide variety of serial interfaces (RS232/RS530/X.21/V.35), and a Chassis solution with 60 port capability, the IP Tube SER encapsulates serial data from DTE or DCE interfaces into IP packets providing transparent interconnection of serial equipment via LANs, WANs, IP Satellite and Wireless Ethernet. 3.
Assured Delivery Protocol In order to assure high quality communications over links with intermittent or noisy performance, such as Wireless or Broadband over Power Line, the IP Tube employs Engage s robust Assured Delivery Protocol with the following benefits: Packet out of sequence detection and re-sequencing Duplicate skipping Lost packet retransmission with configured delay Signaling Support PRI ISDN, SS7, ESF, D4, SLC-96, Proprietary out of band, and robbed bit signaling are supported. Transparent support for Data, Modem or Fax. Voice quality is not compromised. Lossless Data Compression OPTION -C The IP Tube DLT1-Ecan-C continuously detects idle and redundant data within each T1 Voice circuit resulting in as much as a 56 to 1 bandwidth savings. Alternator OPTION -ALT The Alternator option alternatively sends the IP packetized T1/E1 frames on two Ethernet interfaces, balancing the load. The Alternator option enables fractional and full T1 circuits to be split over two IP WAN connections such as ADSL. DS0 Timeslot Multiplexor OPTION - MUX The MUX option maps DSOs from a central site to as many as 24/31 remote locations via an IP/Ethernet connection. Provides Virtual DACS Over IP capability. Mesh DS0 timeslots one-to-many or many-to-many. SuperTube OPTION - SUPER The Super Tube option multiplexes four T1/E1 circuits onto one IP packet stream which reduces the encapsulation overhead bandwidth and the packet frequency by 75%. The substantial reduction of packet frequency enables packet processors to reliably support the extension of real time circuits. 4.
Automatic Circuit Protection (APS) Protection of mission critical communications is a priority for mission critical networking and telecom applications. Engage meets this need head on with a variety of protection mechanisms. IP Tube Protector -PRO option provides for automatic protection of a T1/E1/T3/ E3/SyncSerial circuit over independent IP networks by sending sequentially duplicate circuit packets onto a second Ethernet LAN interface. IP Tube Link Protector -LPT option provides an automatic backup for T1/E1 circuits with Circuit Emulation Services Over IP providing Backup interconnection via Wireless Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet, IP Satellite Services, xdsl,... Protection of Primary T1/E1 Circuits Syn APS delivers critical infrastructure connectivity assurance by automatically routing a failed primary T1/E1 circuit to a second or even third backup T1/E1. Primary circuit traffic can be switched to a backup IP network for increased resiliency. 5.
Cellular Base Station Backhaul Cellular Backhaul Solutions Cellular Basestation backhaul to Basestation Controllers represents one of the largest operating expenses for a mobile network provider. With ever increasing demand from new services and subscribers there is constant pressure to lower costs while increasing backhaul coverage and bandwidth. Engage addresses this challenge with a series of products that seamlessly connect T1/E1 Base Stations (BTS) to Base Station Controllers (BSC) and BSCs to Mobile Switching Centers (MSC) over IP networks. In addition, Engage provides solutions that optimize mobile traffic for more efficient transport. Backhaul TDM Circuits utilizing IP Packets IP Tube products enable cellular backhaul providers to leverage ubiquitous, economical, and reliable IP / Ethernet services as an alternative to T1/E1 circuits. BTS T1/E1 traffic is encapsulated into IP / Ethernet packets for interconnection to the BSC, and BSC T1/E1 traffic encapsulated for interconnection to the MSC. Full and fractional T1/E1 connections are supported. The IP Tube cellular backhaul solution consists of both remote site and central site solutions. At the remote site, compact low power products provide from 1 to 4 T1/E1 interfaces and up to 2 Ethernet ports for transport redundancy. The central site solution supports up to 60 T1/E1 circuits in a compact chassis. 6.
Mobile Basestation Backhaul Optimization The IP Tube G4 Abis provides advanced optimization of 3GPP Abis traffic for efficient and cost effective GSM Cellular Base Station backhaul. Its Powerful and flexible Field Programmable Gate Array based Abis engine provides for the simultaneous full duplex optimization of 512 TRAU sub channels. The IP Tube G4 Abis transports the optimized Basestation traffic over a WAN Circuit or as TDM over IP packets via wired or wireless Ethernet connections. Abis Optimization over Satellite Engage s Abis Optimization can be configured to provide a 50% reduction in the bandwidth required for GSM BTS satellite backhaul. The IP Tube Abis makes it possible to provide mobile services to locations that are revenue challenged. Abis Optimization over T1/E1 Backhaul IP Tube Abis optimization greatly improves the efficiency of T1/E1 backhaul circuits by reducing the number of backhaul T1/E1s in half. This results in significant Opex savings. Alternatively, the capacity recovered can be used to support new services without increasing the number of T1/E1 circuits required. Abis Optimization over IP Ethernet Including Abis optimization in an IP backhaul solution reduces packet bandwidth on the IP network. This lowers monthly recurring charges (reduced megabyte usage), opens up bandwidth for other applications and can make previously difficult to justify deployments, such as satellite, affordable. 7.
SS7 Transport and Monitoring SS7 Transport over IP for Switch Interconnect & Analysis IP Tube for SS7 over IP for Switch Exchange and Monitoring Enable phone switches and other SS7 Signaling elements to exchange T1/E1 TDMbased SS7 signaling over an IP or Ethernet interconnection, eliminating the cost of leased T1/E1 connections SS7 over IP for Remote Analysis and Capture IP Tube for Transport of SS7 over IP to Central Monitoring Site Enable centralized monitoring of remote switches by transporting SS7 signaling from remote switch locations to a central site where SS7 analyzer instruments and personnel are located. With SS7 Sniffer Option signaling information is encapsulated into standards-based packet format for capture, analysis and archiving by Ethernet packet analyzers. 8.
