1 Field Force Extrication Training Program Field Force Extrication (FFE) is a 3-day course, presented via the U.S. Department of Homeland Security-Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP). It provides emergency responders knowledge and skills regarding the tools and information necessary to extricate an individual safely from a protester device. After the initial informational part of the course, the remainder of the course will engage the responder in practical exercises designed to demonstrate safe work practices for removing individuals from a variety of protester devices. Critical skills in the program include: recognizing the purpose of protester devices, explaining legal issues as they relate to the use of and extrication of individuals from protester devices, outlining the responsibilities of the extrication team, distinguishing roles and responsibilities of the extrication team, and operating tools to extricate individuals. Personal protective equipment required (hard hat, eye protection, gloves, and safety shoes) The CDP will provide safety equipment needed if the student doesn t have. The Pennsylvania State Fire Academy has arranged this informative 3-day class primarily for fire service, law enforcement, emergency management, emergency medical services, healthcare, public health, gas industry safety and security, and public safety communications personnel. This exciting 3-day program is being offered locally on: Friday - Sunday, August 21-23, 2015 from 8 am to 5 pm at the Waynesburg Fire Department 116 East Greene Street, Waynesburg, PA All applicants must have or obtain a FEMA SID number and complete an ON-LINE application to preregister! In a multiagency response, several PIOs may be assigned to the incident, requiring increased coordination. The National Incident Management System (NIMS), based on best practices, recommends that responders establish a Joint Information System (JIS) and if necessary a Joint Information Center (JIC). The JIC is a central location that facilitates operation of the JIS.
