You may be asked to provide identification proving your age. Please bring valid proof of identification with you so that you do not risk being refused entry. Valid proof of identification includes a driving license, valid passport or identity card. People born in 1998 will be granted entrance even if they turn 18 after the festival. Anyone who turns 18 in 2016 is permitted entrance. This is a strict policy and nobody who is born in 1999 or later year, even if accompanied by an adult, can enter Hard Island Festival Alcoholic drinks will be served only to visitors 18 years of age and over as this is the law in Croatia.

15 Support Live online support is going to be closed for the whole duration of the festival. You can however contact our team of helpful agents by sending us an to or contact us by sending a facebook message. We will answer every question/solve any problem as quickly as possible! Drugs & alcohol The organisation adheres to the zero-tolerance policy enforced by the local authorities. This means no form of soft and/or hard drug is permitted, i.e. marihuana and hash are also prohibited. Take notice also on alcohol use and celebrate in style & safe. We encourage dancing on the beach, but with your clothes on and without your head in the sand. Loud music & Noise Please respect the rules of the accommodation. The rules will be given out in print and explained upon your arrival. Be aware that breaking house rules, especially playing loud music or producing noise in late evening, at night or early morning could get you kicked out of your apartment.

16 Environment You re staying at the beautiful and well maintained area on Island of Pag. Respect the nature and throw your trash in the appropriate waste bins. Please be nice and leave your apartments/rooms as you ve got it. Be proper and clean up your trash ;). Take care of yourself & others Even tho this is a party holiday, so much partying demands a lot more energy than you think. Sleep, eat and drink (non-alcoholic) enough. Be sure to eat multiple times per day. The weather can be devilish hot in Croatia. It is important to get enough fluid and salt. In a word, take care of yourself as well as others.

17 Hospitals Hospitals and clinics are located in larger cities like Zadar, Split and Zagreb while ambulance, first aid clinics and pharmacies are located in Novalja. Foreign tourists with valid health insurance of countries with which Croatia has signed a Social Security Agreement do not pay for emergency medical care during a private stay in the Republic of Croatia if they have a contract providing confirmation of their right to health care. Health care (including transport) is used for emergency cases in the manner and according to the regulations valid for Croatian citizens covered by social security, with identical participation in health care costs. Persons coming from countries with which there is no health care contract or agreement bear all the costs themselves, so it is advisable to opt for travel insurance with a private insurance company. 18 Shops At every accommodation area (Novalja, Gajac or Stara Novalja), you can find a local shop almost on any corner, but if you are searching for a supermarket, you can visit Hiper Novalis (Monday - Saturday 7:00-19:30, Sunday 7:00 12:30) or Konzum near the bus station (Check Island Map). Restaurants The island of Pag is specific for indented coast, numerous coves and beaches where there are small places where you can rent a private apartment or house and have pleasant vacations. If you want to savor the specialties of Novalja and the island of Pag ( Pag cheese, lamb, needle macaroni, curd strudel, a variety of fish and seafood dishes, traditional domestic delicacies such as hrostule and fritters), visit numerous restaurants and taverns in Novalja. We recommend you visit restaurants Antonio, Sidro, Boskinac, taverns Arka, Stari Mlin and Antika.

19 Bars Unlike shops, you will find a bar on EVERY corner and EVERYWHERE. :) Keep in mind, this is the main summer party destination in Croatia. Clubs and bars are an integral part of it and they will be happy to welcome you and your friends at almost any time of day.

Check-out Both Extended and Basic stay: July 9th 10:00 (10 am) *late check-out is not possible Checking In To check-in into your accommodation, you first need to arrive to your assigned check-in point (see voucher). Your voucher also contains the map with locations of all three check-in points. At your check-in point you will exchange your vouchers for festival bracelets and will be escorted to your accommodation. If you are coming by car, you will have to follow a scooter/car from one of our staff members. If you arrive by one of our transfers, you will be driven to your accommodation by one of our own transports.

21 Bring your ID! Every visitor must bring a copy of their personal ID or passport for purposes of tourist registration. Inform your friends as well - this is a must for every person staying in Croatia. Bringing a physical photocopy with you will make the process quicker and simpler. Basic accommodation details In the apartment there will be bed sheets, basic cookware and toilet paper. In most apartments there are also towels. All accommodations are located in Novalja. Apartments have a kitchen and bathroom, most of them also have a terrace/balcony. Smaller accommodations (2 or 3 people) may only be rooms or studios. Beds in a dormitory room (Hostel Moon Rocks) also have a shared bathroom area (Separate for men and women).

22 House rules & Safety deposit At the accommodation you will meet the owner of the apartment. The owner will present you the house rules and take a safety deposit of approximately EUR (in EUR or equivalent in Croatian Kuna) and give you the keys to the accommodation. Safety deposit is paid per person and will be returned to you before your departure, if you haven t damaged the apartment or broke the house rules. We do not take responsibility for the rules of the apartment owners. Our advice - Respect the owner, don t break anything and keep the accommodation as clean as possible! Try to resolve possible issues in a relaxed and civil manner. Our team is available 24/7 for assistance (contact numbers are on the voucher and page 2 of infobook). Don t have a place to stay? Staying on the beach is not allowed! It is not possible to accommodate yourself on the beach and is prohibited by the law. Local authorities can fine you and we are not held responsible for securing proper accommodation for yourself.

23 Villas Comfort check-in is available only for Villa customers! No waiting time, we will personally escort you to the Villa upon arrival and welcome you in your villa house or exclusive apartment. Please check your voucher to make sure you arrive at the correct check-in point. Private accommodations You will receive a single key for your accommodation. Make sure to not lose it and communicate with your friends to not leave them behind the locked doors! Please check your voucher to make sure you arrive at the correct check-in point. Shared accommodations Upon settling into the accommodation you will meet your roomies and make new friends from the very start of your holiday. Each group (booking) will receive their own key to the accommodation. Please check your voucher to make sure you arrive at the correct check-in point. Be a good roomie - we ask you to be nice to the people you share the accommodation with. Trust each other, you are all here to have a great time. Wash the dishes. Keep the apartment clean. Don t lock them outside by leaving the key in the door. If you smoke, smoke

24 outside, if you make a mess, clean it, if you break something, take responsibility. Be considerate in general. You are not alone in your accommodation, so play nice and be friendly. Parking Although access by car is possible to all accommodations, not all have a parking spot guaranteed for guests. If your accommodation does not have a designated parking spot it is possible to park nearby on the street or on public parking. We do not guarantee a parking spot for anyone - the responsibility for your car is on you. Our advice is to walk or use the local bus service to get to the Festival Venue. Driving under the influence of alcohol is strongly prohibited and penalized in Croatia! Checking-Out On the day of your Check-Out, you handle everything with your apartment owner. Upon not breaking any of the rules, he will return the safety deposit and you return him the keys.

25 FESTIVAL VENUE The festival venue is the newly renovated Kalypso Beach Club, situated on Zrce beach. This picturesque 1km-long cove, with a pebble beach and a great view of the mainland mountains offers an unparalleled clubbing experience. We have chosen it as the setting for Hard Island because it loud and crazy yet still intimate - it will feel like a large house party with big hardstyle and hardcore DJs right next to you. To them coming to Croatia to perform at a beach feels like a holiday. That is what you will experience too - a proper hard dance holiday. Areas Kalypso Beach Club is structured so all visitors have a great musical and visual experience. Visitors with regular access will always be in the center of the party while VIP visitors will have access to extra dancing space, VIP-only bars and toilets, better view of the stage and faster movement over the VIP bridge. For better view regarding accessibility check the venue map. SuperVIP visitors will have their own table reserved every night of the festival and they will be able to access the elevated deck next to the DJs during the beach parties.

26 Wristbands & accessibility You will be able to exchange your vouchers for appropriate wristband at any of the info points. The types of wristbands are Regular, VIP, Super VIP, Partners lounge, Boat Raw, Boat DWX, Boat KTRA, Boat HC, Boat HIF. Regarding accessibility, check our venue map. Regular, VIP, Super VIP and Partners lounge wristband gives you access to all four festival days (5-8th July). Each boat party wristband gives you access only to one boat party. If you purchased more than one boat party ticket, you also need to have more boat party wristbands. You will be able to enter & exit the Festival Venue at any time. Wear the wristband during your whole stay, don t take it off because it will become invalid. Wristbands will only be given out once. We will not issue a new wristband. No wristband means no entrance to the Festival Venue.

27 Payments at the Festival Venue You will be able to pay with cash (Croatian Kuna - HRK) or bank/credit/debit card at the Festival Venue. You can bring EUR and exchange to HRK in local exchange offices, banks, hotels etc. In some bars and restaurants you can pay with EUR but you will get the best exchange rate if you change your money to the local currency upfront in an exchange office or withdraw money from an ATM. ATM s There is an ATM on Zrce beach, ask for directions at our Info points. There are also plenty of ATM s in all the accommodation areas. First aid & Emergency First aid is available upon calling and they will assist you in the shortest possible time.the nearest ambulance is located few minutes away from the club. In case of emergency, try to find Hard Island or Kalypso staff and call 112 immediately. If you feel that you or someone consumed too much alcohol (or drugs), please immediately notify Hard Island team, Kalypso staff or Security!

28 Eating and drinking It s not allowed to take your own food or drink into the Festival Venue. Festival venue offers a variety of drinks (including bottled water), as well as awesome cocktails & a fast food. On the beach you can find some restaurants and local shops outside the festival venue. There is also a huge supermarket near the Bus station - Hiper Novalis. Sanitary The festival is hosted in Kalypso Beach Club which offers tidy and clean toilets separate for boys and girls. VIP, SuperVIP and Partner Lounge visitors will have to separate less crowded toilets. Lost & found You can hand them in and pick them up at the Beach Info Point. Our advice is to tag your personal belongings with your name and surname and contact telephone number.

29 Merchandise (check venue map) Official Hard Island merchandise will be available inside festival venue in the official Kalypso shop. In the official Kalypso shop you ll be able to find the following items. Payment is possible in cash only. The famous & high quality Hard Island Beach Towels Hard Island Snapback Caps Relaxed fit Hard Island T-Shirts Cool Hard Island Tank Tops Kalypso beach (check venue map) Kalypso beach is available for everyone regardless of their type of ticket and will be opened during the day beach party, but closed during the night parties for safety reasons. At the Kalypso beach you can jump into the sea without even leaving the club.

30 Parking at Zrce beach The Festival Venue offers a big parking place but the beach is crowded in high season so there might not be enough parking to accommodate all visitors. Local buses from surrounding towns (Novalja, Gajac) will take you to the Festival Venue. You can get your bracelet (red route, check local bus map) at any of our info points. The pick up/drop off point is on the beach, right next to the festival area. Also, we strongly object to drinking and driving so we advise you to use the bus if you plan to drink alcohol!

38 BOAT PARTIES The meeting point for all boat parties is at HOTEL LOŽA at the seaside of your accommodation area Novalja (Check our map of check-in points). Arriving to the boat Please arrive to the HOTEL LOŽA at least minutes prior to boarding! The boat will depart on time and will not wait on anyone who arrived too late. Anyone who misses the departure will not receive a refund. Boarding the boat The boarding will start 30 minutes prior to the start of the boat party. Make sure you have your appropriate boat party wristband to show at the entrance. The wristband for boat parties will be cut off your hand when boarding. The party Once everyone hopped on board, we will set sail to the open sea. As the hard beats are pounding we'll be cruising next to Pag Island and beautiful islands around it. All five boat parties will include 3 hours of music, dancing, jumping off the ship and swimming in the crystal clear sea. The timetables and times/dates of the boat parties are available under the festival program and timetable section.

39 TRANSFERS General The pick up times of shared transfers at the airports on July 2nd and 4th, as well as at the Novalja bus station on July 9th are fixed and the transfer will depart at the exact hours written on your voucher, so we suggest to arrive at the meeting spot least 30 minutes prior to the transfers. We do not take responsibility for any missed transfers and later consequences.

41 Arrival The meeting spots for arrival transfers are in front of the airport terminal. All three arrival airports are not very large and there will be plenty of other people also waiting for the ride, so it is nearly impossible to miss it. Transfers arriving from Split and Zagreb airport will also make a stop at the Zadar airport prior to arrival in Novalja. In Novalja your transfer will circle around all the drop-off points (Check-in points), so make sure to get off the transfer at the appropriate check-in point that was appointed to you (you can find this information on your voucher!). Departure All return transfers back to the airports on July 9th depart from the same pick-up point (Bus station, check our map of pick-up & drop-off points). Transfers going to Split and Zagreb airport will also make a stop at Zadar airport prior to moving forward. Again, we encourage arrival to one of the checkin points at least 30 minutes prior to the departure of your transfer. We again do not take responsibility for any missed transfers and later consequences.

43 PRIVATE TRANSFERS If you ve booked a private transfer, you should receive your arrival and departure transfer times to your , as well as have all the needed information on your voucher. In case you are still missing the details of your transfer please contact us immediately! For arrival, you will be picked up shortly after you arrive at the airport and taken to your check-in point. For departure, you will picked up at your accommodation and taken direct to the airport where you fly from. Pickup time for your return private transfer will be calculated so that you will arrive at the airport minimum 2 hours before your flight. You will be notified upfront and it is not possible to change the departure time of your return transfer. 44 LOCAL BUS The local bus is the cheapest form of local transportation and it is especially convenient due to many bus stops in and around the town, including right next to the festival venue Kalypso Beach Club on Zrce Beach. If you haven t purchased your local bus ticket on our shop (red route), you can do so at all the check-in/info points. For extended stay, the price for unlimited rides in Novalja area is 25 EUR and for basic stay 19 EUR. The buses drive between 8:00 and 22:00 every 30 minutes and NON STOP between 22:00 and 6:00. There is a break between 6:00 and 8:00 in the morning. During that period only taxi transport is available. Please note that all our official accommodations are situated within Novalja area and accessible with the local bus. If you have purchased an accommodation on your own at a location not accessible with the local bus you might have to use other means of transport such as taxis and other busses.
