1 CENTRAL NEW YORK BIOTECH ACCELERATOR (CNYBAC) EVENT SPACE AND USABILITY TEST CENTER AVAILABLE FOR SHORT-TERM RENT Various facilities at CNY Biotech Accelerator (CNYBAC), 841 E. Fayette St., Syracuse, NY are now available for short-term rent for meetings, conferences, exhibit events and usability testing. If you are interested in renting short-term space, please contact us and we will forward a Facility Use Agreement which can be placed as an annual contract for multiple use during the year or for a onetime event. Event and Meeting Space The 72-seat Theater-in-the-MIND, built to TEDx specifications, host TED Talks throughout the year and is the host site for the CNYBAC Cultivate Entrepreneur Education Series. This state-of-the-art globally accessible/connected facility is housed within the Upstate MIND, the CNYBAC Medical Innovation and Novel Discovery Center, where additional conference rooms and meeting spaces are offered. Usability Test Center Usability Test Center facilities may be rented for short-term duration for focus groups, participant interviews, and marketing research or non-significant risk IRB approved usability evaluations. CNYBAC is within walking distance to many inpatient and outpatient user groups. The Creation Garage is a perfect setting for prototype design and evaluation. Additional contracted services are available (Grant assistance, Subject recruitment, Certified clinical researchers, Simulation Environments, Statistics, etc.). CNYBAC Staff: Robert J. Corona, DO, MBA, FCAP, FASCP, Professor and Chair of Pathology, Medical Director of Neuropathology/Muscle Pathology, SUNY Upstate Medical University and Vice President for Innovation and Business Development. Dr. Corona is the former Medical Director of Welch Allyn, a medical device manufacturer recently acquired by Hill-Rom. Kathi Durdon, MA, CCRP, CNYBAC Director of Operations, with over 15 years of experience in good clinical practice conduct of human subject research and human factors/usability evaluations. Kathi is a member of the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) Human Factors Committee and Clinical Investigation Committee, chairs the annual Society of Clinical Research Associates (SoCRA) medical device research and regulations conference, and instructs the SoCRA Clinical Research Professional certification preparatory course. Kathleen Pazaras, CNYBAC Building Manager, formerly employed within the SUNY Upstate Medical University Research Administration Office, is skilled in database development, subject recruitment, programmatic scheduling, and knowledgable about the varied equipment and AV systems within the facility. Coordinators at SUNY Upstate are GCP and human subjects protection certified. 6. IRB Submission Support Only non-patient related usability studies are conducted at CNYBAC - submission is through a central IRB for non-suny faculty/staff. Clinical trials conducted at SUNY Upstate are reviewed and approved by the SUNY Upstate local IRB. Submission is through the selected SUNY Upstate PI. 7. Mentors and Service Providers Available: Legal/Patents, Insurance, Marketing, Clinical Evidence, Regulatory, Quality, Grant Support, FDA Submission, Statistics, Funding Support Mentor (free assistance) and Service Providers (fee-based) may be coordinated at no cost through CNYBAC, meetings may be held at CNYBAC per fee schedule above. 8.
