5 MINI RANTA STAGE (Outdoor) Capacity 2000 Sound System TBA Screen n/a Stage Manager Ansku Vaimala, FACILITIES & SERVICES 6.1 BACKSTAGE AREAS Ruisrock backstage areas are located behind each stage of the festival except Teltta Stage, which has a shared backstage area with Niitty Stage. Access to backstage areas is limited to artists and crew. Dressing rooms and production offices are located at these backstage areas. The artists performing on Teltta Stage have their dressing rooms at the backstage area of Niitty Stage. Distance from Teltta Stage to the backstage is approximately 175 meters and there is a shuttle available between backstage and stage if needed. 6.2 PRODUCTION OFFICES Each Ruisrock backstage has one shared production office for visiting Tour and Production Managers (except Meri and Mini Ranta stages, which have no designated production offices). Production Offices are located at the backstage and hospitality area. Production Offices provide Internet connection (wireless) and telephone lines. Telephone number to each stage will be available later. Production offices are located right next to the dressing rooms. At Meri backstage area there is a wireless Internet and a printer available for visiting parties. 6.3 DRESSING ROOMS - SHOWERS & SAUNA - TOWELS & LAUNDRY Festival provides dressing rooms for artists performing at Ruisrock. Dressing rooms are located at backstage areas. The rooms are lockable so please ask your backstage host for keys if necessary. Dressing rooms are furnished and equipped with refrigerator. Please note that dressing rooms are available for limited time period on show day. The amount of dressing rooms is limited so please adjust your needs to a festival situation. Details on dressing room availability will be notified during advance. Niitty and Ranta backstages have also a separate shower cabins and water toilet facilities available, which artists from Meri and Mini Ranta stages can also use. In Ranta backstage area there is also a sauna in free use. For more info please contact your backstage hosts.
6 Towels are available as needed. Please ask and use only the necessary amount of towels, as we don t want to create unnecessary laundry. Unfortunately there is no possibility to do laundry at the festival site. If laundry is needed please contact Gabriela Campos ([email protected]) in advance to find out the working hours and rates of the laundry in Turku city centre. 6.4 BACKSTAGE AND DRESSING ROOM CATERING Hot meals - lunch and dinner for artists and crew are served at the backstage catering areas located in Niitty and Ranta backstages. There is a sandwich bar in Meri and Mini Ranta backstage areas. Menu includes meat, fish, vegetarian and vegan dishes with salads. Coffee, tea, sodas, sandwiches and snacks are available all ay long. Catering areas are open from noon to 01:00 (if needed). Backstage catering menu can be found from the Ruisrock Production Site. Please ask your backstage host for food tickets that are required at the catering area. Dressing room catering will be provided according to hospitality rider (some restrictions may apply). Coffee, tea, salads, sandwiches and snacks are served at the catering area and not to the dressing rooms. Fresh fruits, cereals, muesli and other breakfast options are also available Please note that some products are not available in Finland but we try to find the best available substitute for these products. 6.5 PRODUCTION SCHEDULES Timetable for load-in / load-out / riser availability etc. will be delivered to all acts during advance. Please read this timetable carefully and notice that times are strict to ensure things run smooth during changes. 6.6 BACKLINE All local backline is provided at Ruisrock by Backline Rental Finland Ltd. Please deliver your backline needs early so we have time to arrange you with proper backline. The festival will pay for the backline only if agreed in contract. Deadline for backline needs is Friday 10 th of June 2016 and after that we cannot guarantee availability. Please note that some items may not be available in Finland.
7 6.7 MERCHANDISE Ruisrock has a merchandise sales point at festival area nearby the main entrance where band merchandise can be put up for sale. All merchandise is sold by the personnel of the festival. Due to the large number of artists and limited sales space please limit your products to be sold to four (4) bestsellers. This way we can provide good space for all merchandise. IMPORTANT!! Please see the commission percentage and VAT info from the separate merchandise info sheet or from Ruisrock Production Site. (username: technical, password: technical). Deadline for contacting regarding merch sales is Monday June 27 th Further merchandise info is available at Ruisrock Production Site. 6.8 TRANSPORTATION (ground transportation for International acts only) Please note that festival takes place in city of Turku approx. 160 kilometres (100miles) from Helsinki. Distance from Helsinki airport to Turku is around 2hours 30min (180 kilometres) by car. Nearest airport is Turku Airport (EFTU). Distance from Turku Airport/downtown to festival site is around 10 km, min by car. On charter flights we recommend local handling agent Airpro Oy, Contact: Juha Lindgren [email protected], The festival arranges internal ground transportation. You ll meet the driver(s) at arrival hall. Please look for a person with Artist s / Tour Manager s name at the arrival hall (please advise if other sign is required). Festival transportation uses 1+8 seater vans with good gear space (approx. 2m 3 ). Luggage vans are available if needed. Due to a huge amount of Artists we cannot promise same drivers / vehicles at sole use for the whole stay. Runner available when needed - festival situation, not in sole use of Artist.
8 All transportation requirements and timings must advise in advance. Please send your transportation needs to by Sunday July 3 rd at the latest. We try to avoid all unnecessary driving to keep us environmentally friendly. Ground Transportation contact / head of artist transportation Karri Vainio / [email protected]/ FESTIVAL PASSES & WRISTBANDS Ruisrock Festival passes and wristbands are required to enter the festival and backstage areas. Important! Festival pass is valid only with a proper wristband. Please send us info on your touring party in advance. We will prepare passes for you according to the info sent. Our drivers will give the passes to the Tour Manager upon your arrival. If you are entitled to a guest list these tickets can be picked up from the Festival Accreditation Point which is located at the hotel Radisson BLU Marina Palace in downtown Turku. Ruisrock guest policy is ONE guest per performing musician. Guests will receive 3-day tickets to the festival. Artist passes are valid for the whole duration of the festival but backstage access is only for the day of the performance. Ruisrock accreditation point is open: On Thursday 7 th : from 11:00 to 18:00 On Friday 8 th : from 11:00 to 22:00 On Saturday 9 th : from 11:00 to 21:00 On Sunday 10 th : from 11:00 to 19:00 Deadline for guest lists is Friday 17 th of June Please deliver your guest list before the deadline to: [email protected] 6.10 BOAT SHUTTLE FROM DOWNTOWN TURKU TO VENUE Ruisrock Boat Shuttles leave near the Radisson BLU Marina Palace at Martinsilta Bridge (address is Itäinen Rantakatu 46, Turku). The distance from hotel is about 300 meters. A festival pass is required to enter the boat. There will be a security check when entering the boat. You are not allowed to bring alcohol or any kind of glass items to the boat or to the festival area. These boats are for Artists, Festival crew, VIPs and Media members only.
9 First boat from Turku to Festival site leaves at 14:30 on Friday and at 11:30 on Saturday and Sunday. (For first hour of the day only artist and crew passes are valid.) 6.11 VIDEO SCREENS Niitty Stage, Ranta Stage and Teltta Stage are equipped with a screen for the audience. Each stage has one or two cameras on the stage and one or two cameras at FOH. The material is also recorded for safety reasons and for festival archives. If you want to use the recorded screen material please contact our Screen & Festival TV Director: Antti Kuivalainen / [email protected] / Festival will use material only in screens and safety matters BROADCASTING & RECORDING (Ranta Stage only) All performances at Ranta Stage will be broadcasted by YLE (Finnish Broadcasting Company) that is a public broadcasting company (non-commercial) like BBC in UK. The Ranta Stage performances will be streamed live in entirety in Yle Areena web service, individual live songs will be played on Yle radio channels and highlights will be shown on Yle TV1, TV2 and Teema television programming after the festival. For questions or more information please contact the producer of YLE broadcasting in Ruisrock: Jani Mikkonen / [email protected] / DOCUMENTING THE FESTIVAL Ruisrock Festival s own film crew and festival s media partners (such as YLE, the Finnish Broadcasting Company) will document the festival s activities, public, concerts and interesting events throughout the whole weekend. The filming will be carried out both for documenting and after marketing purposes. The published material will not include the concerts sound tracks nor will the clips display any full songs. In case our film crew wishes to film the gig from the pit, we will contact the artists representatives in beforehand.
10 6.14 COPYRIGHT ROYALTIES FOR PERFORMANCES IN FINLAND Please give a set list of your performance to your backstage host. We will forward the songs you ve performed to The Finnish Composers Copyright Society Teosto who will pay royalties to composers of the songs based on the set lists. You can also your set list to: [email protected] 7. MARKETING MATERIALS ETC. Samples of Ruisrock marketing materials can be found from Ruisrock Production Site at (username: technical, password: technical). 7.1 FESTIVAL T-SHIRTS Ruisrock prints t-shirts with the whole line-up in the back of the shirt. No band logos are used only band names in written text. Festival does not compensate this on merchandise commissions. 7.2 PA-SHEETS Each stage at Ruisrock has printed sheets in front of the stage towards audience with the visual look of the festival and logos of the festival sponsors. 7.3 POSTERS & FLYERS Ruisrock prints posters and flyers, which include the whole line-up of the festival and logos of the festival sponsors.

Festival pays accommodation for one night only if not otherwise agreed in contract. 12 9. FESTIVAL REGULATIONS The location of Ruisrock Festival in the middle of protected nature forces us to issue some strict regulations for performances at the festival. We hope for your understanding and thank you for your co-operation. 9.1 SOUND LEVEL LIMITS The local authorities (City of Turku, Environmental Protection Office) have granted the licence for Ruisrock 2016 on the basis that we don't add too much to the annual noise dosage of the surrounding area of the festival. We are obligated by the terms of the license to enforce sound level limits at the festival. The sound level limits at Ruisrock are as follows: 100 db(a) slow Leq db(a) max peak Sound levels are monitored and sound engineer at FOH will be notified of too high levels if needed. The nature surrounding the festival area is protected by Natura 2000 Program of the European Commission and the regulations regarding noise are very strict. 9.2 PYROTECHNICS, LASERS AND CONFETTI All use of pyrotechnics need to be cleared in advance to get proper permits and fire guards on stand-by when pyros are used. Please inform us well in advance of any kind of pyrotechnics that will be used in your performance. If you are planning to use lasers at your show please inform us immediately to get the permit process started. All our outdoor stages (excluding tents) are facing towards the Turku airport so this will affect on use of lasers. Also the regulations for use of lasers are very strict in Finland so we cannot guarantee you will be able to use those at your show. But please contact our production team asap so we can start working on using the lasers at your show. Due to the location of the festival in the middle of a protected nature use of any kind of confetti is not allowed at Ruisrock Festival. We just cannot have the surrounding nature to be full of paper waste.
