San Jacinto Community College Requirements for enrollment: Is currently in grade 11 or 12 Is age 15 or older at the time the course begins Has a 3.0 high school GPA (transcript required) Recommendation by the high school principal (this may not be delegated to a designee) Signed parental consent form* Completion of assessment and orientation process at MSJC, with appropriate scores that indicate an ability to benefit from college level work* *Previous requirement New students must meet all of the criteria Registration: 1. To start the enrollment process, High School students must submit the following documents in person at the Menifee, San Jacinto, or Temecula campuses: Application for Admission for enrollment. School/Parent Agreement Form is required at the time of enrollment. These forms can be found at the registration office at either campus. The School/Parent Agreement Form must be signed by the Executive Director and a parent/legal guardian before submitting. You must list the classes requested on this form. Official High School Transcripts. You can contact the Registrar at the Dehesa Charter School office to request a transcript. Do not open the envelope once you receive this in the mail. Deliver to the college with the above documents. Letter of Recommendation is required by the Executive Director (this may not be delegated to a designee) 2. At the time of submission, an assessment appointment will be set. The assessment will indicate proper placement in English and Mathematics courses. The test takes between 1 to 2 hours to complete. NEW STUDENTS MUST MEET ALL OF THE CRITERIA. Those students who have been attending college successfully now and in the past will be grandfathered in and will not be subjected to the new special admit criteria. 3. Upon completion of the assessment tests, students must also attend a 1-hour orientation. Appointments are set through the enrollment office. The orientation covers college procedures, expectations, information about the college, and reviews your assessment results.

5 4. Upon completion of both the assessment tests and orientation, the student will be able to officially enroll in the requested class/classes. See schedule of classes for procedures to add/drop classes that are full. Some restrictions apply for the types of classes students can take. For example, PE classes are not allowed during the fall or spring terms, but allowed during summer months. Two classes (less than 10 total units) are allowed for high school students. Tuition: Tuition is free for high school students. If a student wishes to take an English or Math course below the course suggested on the assessments, regular tuition is applied. This amount can be covered using Dehesa Charter School EUs. Other fees, such as parking, are not covered by Dehesa. Books: 1. Once enrolled in your classes, the student may go to the bookstore to identify the appropriate books. The bookstore attendant will help you find your books using the section number of the class. At the checkout counter, inform the clerk that you are a student with Dehesa Charter School and you would like to get a quote slip for these books. The books will be restocked, so only use new books for your quote. 2. Deliver this quote slip to your EF to place the order as soon as possible. EF s must include the tax on the order form or the student will have to pay the tax at the time of pick up. Simply add the tax as a line item). The order will need to be approved by the Program Director and a Purchase Order will be generated. This will take approximately 5 working days. 3. Upon approval of the purchase order, you must contact the bookstore to inquire whether the PO has been received and ensure that the order is ready to be picked up. The student may pick them up with some form of ID showing their name. You may use a Dehesa ID card or any other card that identifies you by name. Please allow 5 days from giving your EF the quote slip before picking up your books. **Note: Once the PO has been generated, books cannot be returned!!!! This means you need to be sure that you are enrolled in the class. At the end of the semester, all books must be returned to Dehesa and are not to be sold back to the bookstore. Tele-course classes: Many on-line and Tele-course classes are offered through this college. We are able to use EUs for the books through the bookstore. However, we are unable to use EUs for videotape rentals. You can view the video-courses for free using a cable channel or you can rent them for about $80.
