If you do not pay the tuition and fees required for your classes by the last day to pay found on the Academic Calendar, your registration is not complete. In addition, the classes for which you have registered will be dropped, and you will need to register again. We accept cash, checks, money orders, credit cards (except American Express), and debit cards. Payment is accepted online through WebAdvisor, in person, via a drop box located outside the Business Office, and by mail. COLLEGE CREDIT/CURRICULUM Programs & Majors Spring Semester 2013 Courses PAYING FOR COURSES $ Refunds A pre-registered curriculum student who officially drops one or more classes prior to the first day of the semester will be eligible for a one-hundred percent tuition refund. The student activity and technology fees will also be refunded if the student officially drops all classes prior to the first day of the semester. Thereafter, a refund of seventy-five percent of only the tuition will be made through the ten percent date of the semester. Students do not qualify for a refund of fees after the one hundred percent date. All tuition will be refunded if a class is canceled. Refunds will be processed within four weeks of the ten percent date. CONTINUING EDUCATION COURSES FEE WAIVERS Unless otherwise noted, the registration fee for one continuing education course per semester is waived for students 65 years or older. However, a $5 technology fee is charged for all continuing education courses with the exception of College & Career Readiness. A limited number of scholarships may be available. REFUNDS The entire cost of the course will be refunded if requested before it begins or if the course is cancelled. Thereafter, a refund of seventy-five percent if requested after a course begins, but before ten percent of the total class meetings.

Please register for Continuing Education classes at least one week prior to the starting date. Classes may fill and prohibit further enrollment or may be cancelled if enrollment is low. Continuing Education students must be at least 16 years of age. Registration Form can be found in the Continuing Education section of the College s website (sandhills.edu). Look under Registering for Classes and follow the link from Mail-In or Fax Registration. GED Test Scores Expire in December! Finish the General Educational Development (GED) tests now! Due to a completely revised GED test coming in early 2014, the current version is set to expire at the end of Testers must finish and pass current tests by the end of 2013 or all scores will expire. Partial completion of tests will not be accepted. Register for classes on May 20. Fall Semester Begins August 19 Class Registration: New Students may register for classes on May 20, June 18, July 11 & 23, August 15. Returning students can contact their advisor to make an appointment to register. New students are not required to take the SAT or ACT to enroll but scores can be used for class placement. Application and placement tests must be completed prior to registering for classes. The college placement test, Accuplacer, is offered on a walk-in basis. A photo identification and a $7.00 administrative fee are required. This course will go into moderate depth of the anatomy and physiology of the equine foot, using skeletal teaching aids and live horses. This course will also familiarize you with common injuries, lameness, and conformational problems. Participants will have the opportunity to trim at least one horse before course completion. 10 CREATIVE CAREER LIVING TRAINING REAL ESTATE NEW-Real Estate Post-Licensing - Broker Relationships and Responsibilities This class is one of three courses designed to assist the provisional broker to meet the 90-hour postlicensing educational requirement set by the North Carolina Real Estate Commission. This course consists of advanced instruction, covering Agency relationships and duties to principals and third parties, working with sellers and working with buyers. This course also includes issues confronted when agents leave/change firms with the resulting licenses and education concerns. (Post-licensing classes can be taken in any order.) Topics include: site analysis, elements of design, plant materials. The Technology Training area of Continuing Education at SCC (formerly Computer Courses) offers up-to-date instruction on many areas of technology for adult learners of all experience levels. Whether you can t figure out how to turn on a computer or electronic tablet or you are already comfortable with technology, we can always help you learn more. Topics include starting your computer, saving your work, hardware and software explanation, computer terminology and navigating the desktop using the keyboard and mouse.
