3 1. About Wien Energie and blizznet Wien Energie has been operating a telecommunications network deploying all common technologies for more than twenty years. Glass fibres have been laid for this purpose since You will find amongst our customers nearly all telecommunications and internet companies represented in Vienna in addition to the Wiener Stadtwerke and the Municipality of Vienna. Wien Energie offers with the blizznet brand a highly available glass fibre network within the Vienna city area, the basis of which is formed by a network of over 2,000 km of optical fibre cables. 2. Basic Services The blizznetdarkfiber product links two customer locations using glass fibre. Several fibre links are strung together using splices or patches to form a complete connection without the use of active equipment. The prerequisite for the provision of the specified services is exclusive realization using the Wien Energie network infrastructure. A redundant connection of customer premises is optionally possible. This service description applies solely to enterprises pursuant to Article 1 of the Austrian Consumer Protection Act. 3. Prerequisites 1.1. Physical availability blizznetdarkfiber is generally available where Wien Energie can provide a glass fibre connection Construction prerequisites/space requirements The installation site of the equipment provided by Wien Energie to the customer is to be clean, dry, safe and sufficiently ventilated. In particular the customer is to ensure at their own expense that the following outline conditions are satisfied: Space requirements: 1 U (rack unit) in a 19 rack Ambient temperature: 0 C to +40 C Relative humidity: 5% to 85% (non-condensing) The above parameters refer to the handover via patching (=standard). The prerequisites for alternative variants are specified in the respective offer Legal prerequisites Please refer to the General Terms and Conditions of Wien Energie GmbH 1 for details. 4. Access The General Terms & Conditions regulate access to Wien Energie equipment/network connection point (NCP) at the customer s. 1 These can be downloaded at Energie.at and/or Seite 1 von 3

4 5. Network Connection Point (NCP) The connection socket at the customer s is deemed the network connection point (NCP). All network equipment up to this point is deemed to be within the sphere of responsibility of Wien Energie. This does not apply to components and connections provided by the customer. 6. Provisioning times The provisioning times depend on the requested locations and will be specified in the respective offer. The General Terms & Conditions regulate details thereof. 7. Service handover Wien Energie delivers to the customer the service handover notification. This notification has to cover at least the following parameters: Connection numbers Measurements record of the length and attenuation properties of the connection using OTDR measurement (one sided) Other relevant information 8. Monitoring The Network Operation Centre (NOC) monitors the Wien Energie network 24x7x 365/. 9. Service management & SLA Please refer to the blizznetsla (Service Level Agreement) for details regarding faults, maintenance, guaranteed availability, points of contacts and escalation levels. It should be noted that faults in a Dark Fiber connection can only be identified indirectly (e.g. through the failure of other connections on the same fibre link) by Wien Energie. Unless otherwise expressly agreed the SLA STANDARD category is deemed agreed. Seite 2 von 3

5 10. Technical service data The values of the desired connection depend on the length and number of patch and splice connections. Wien Energie will state the relevant values such as length and attenuation of the complete connection in the respective offer. Fibre data (single mode fibre) Type: ITU-T G.652 Dimensions: Diameter of mode field d (as per Petermann II) for 1310 nm 9.2 µm ± 0.40 µm for 1550 nm 10.5 µm ± 1.0 µm Mode field eccentricity 0.5 µm Transmission and optical properties Damping at 1310 nm 0.36 db/km Damping at 1550 nm 0.22 db/km Chromatic dispersion at nm 3.5 ps/(nm * km) Chromatic dispersion at 1550 nm 18 ps/(nm * km) Polarisation mode dispersion 0.2 ps/(km) Cut-off wavelength (relative to RTM) for the fibres λ cf in the nm range for the fibres in the cable λ ccf 1250 nm Point defect at pulse width 10 ns nm 0.05 db Dispersion zero point Increase in dispersion at zero point ps/(nm² * km) Splice connections The arithmetic mean value of all splice attenuation of a fibre between the customer locations to be connected is 0.1 db per cable splice. If the connection comprises 5 cable splices the mean value is 0.15 db per splice. Socket / Patch Connection Standard socket Insertion loss: Return loss Loss per patch FC/PC 0.2 db at 1550 nm 40 db at 1550 nm maximum1db (Ø 0.7 db) The standard network connection point at the customer s is executed as an FC/PC socket. Alternative variants are optionally possible at the request of the customer. There may be an additional charge. Seite 3 von 3
