Missions starter Donn Roach was cruising through the first four innings, holding Corpus Christi to a pair of hits. The Hooks erupted in the fifth, wiping out a 2-0 deficit by scoring five times on seven knocks. Jonathan Meyer smoked an RBI double off the wall in left and Erik Castro belted a two-run home run onto the batters eye in centerfield. Corpus Christi added an insurance tally in the seventh when Drew Muren coaxed a lead-off walk from Matt Lollis in a 16-pitch confrontation. Rene Garcia and Preston Tucker followed with backto-back doubles. Seaton recorded two outs in the eighth before Yeison Asencio hit a two-run homer to left. He fanned two and did not walk a batter, throwing 72 of 107 pitches for strikes. Chia-Jen Lo closed out the inning and Jorge De Leon notched his sixth save. Geith has been assigned to Corpus Christi s bullpen. Geith, acquired by Houston (as a PTBNL) from Tampa Bay in exchange for OF Ben Francisco last August, is 6-0 with a 2.86 ERA in 31 appearances for the JetHawks this season. He has struck out 36 and walked 15 in 44.0 IP, holding the California League to 1 home run and a.257 batting average against. Geith pitched last year for Charlotte in the Florida State League, going 0-3 with a 2.98 ERA over 31 outings. He saved 2 games and walked just 11 batters while fanning 49 in 54.1 IP. Geith was selected by the Rays in the 39th round of the 2011 draft out of Louisiana-Lafayette. A native of Peoria, AZ, Geith was 12-7 with a 4.63 ERA over 29 starts and 3 complete games for the Cajuns, recording 119 strikeouts and 49 walks in 173 innings. He was originally drafted by the White Sox in the 49th round in 2009 out of Scottsdale Community College. WF DEBUT: INF Ronny Torreyes is scheduled to make his Whataburger Field debut tonight, playing second base out of the lead-off spot. Torreyes, who rejoined the Hooks yesterday, went home to Venezuela 2 weeks ago to be present for the birth of his child. The Astros acquired Torreyes from the Chicago Cubs at the beginning of July in exchange for international signing pool space. Torreyes was hitting.260 with 13 doubles, 25 RBIs and a.337 on-base percentage for Double-A Tennessee. He is 4-for-18 as a Hook with 1 double and 1 run scored. Torreyes, 20, worked exclusively at second for the Smokies but has experience at third and shortstop in his 4-year career. The Venezuelan native was originally acquired by the Cubs from Cincinnati, along with left-hander Travis Wood and outfielder Dave Sappelt, in exchange for southpaw Sean Marshall in December Torreyes has walked 92 times compared to 84 strikeouts in 339 career contests.
