2 ALCYONE ANIMATION? Who name so? (Translation: Who is that?) Alcyone Animation (pronounced Als-eye-uhn-ee) is a multi-award winning, full service animation and new media production company based in Jamaica. Utilizing the best talent available, Alcyone provides services in illustration, character design and development, graphic design, copy writing, script writing and development, voice-over artistry, post-production and animation. It was founded by Alison Latchman and Anieph Latchman who pooled their expertise in graphics, animation, editing, script writing, performing arts, talent management and administration to launch this creativity-based enterprise. Alcyone s flagship production is Cabbie Chronicles, Jamaica s and the Caribbean s first animated series. At its first outing in 2010 at the 9th staging of the Animae Caribe Animation and New Media Festival held in Trinidad, Cabbie Chronicles won Best Caribbean Animation! The judging panel included Oscar nominated animation great Bill Plympton and Kyle Baker of Phineas and Ferb fame. Complete branding for the series was also developed by Alcyone. Alcyone Animation is committed to the creation of quality content that is also culturally relevant, especially to the Caribbean region. 3 DIRECTORS Who dem? (Translation: Who are they?) Alison Latchman serves as CEO and Head Writer at Alcyone Animation. Alison, who also has a background in human resources, is a classically trained actor who studied Performing Arts in London, England and has strong writing and story development skills. She conducts voice and speech workshops with the Little Theatre Movement, the company behind the annual Jamaican pantomime productions. Alison is the Co-creator, Writer and Voice Director for the award winning Jamaican series, Cabbie Chronicles. Anieph Latchman is the COO and Creative Director at Alcyone Animation. He studied at the Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts in Jamaica and has over 15 years experience in the creative production of all aspects of visual communication. Companies such as National Commercial Bank (Ja.) Ltd, The Heart Trust, Headline Entertainment, Carib Cement, Mandingo Roots Wine, and the Jamaica Police Co-operative Credit Union Limited have utilized his expertise for their large and small advertising campaigns. Anieph is Co-creator of the award winning series Cabbie Chronicles where he oversees all aspects of its production. Marlo Scott is the Art Director at Alcyone Animation. He studied at the Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts in Jamaica and has over 12 years experience in the art of illustration and graphics. Marlo Scott has worked on major campaigns for the Jamaican Ministries of Education and Health where he has helped to produce manuals, pamphlets and posters for local distribution. Marlo is responsible for the accurate, vibrant depiction of the Jamaican people and landscape of Cabbie Chronicles. As Art Director he designed the characters and backgrounds for the award winning series.
