8 The technical bonuses of LEDS simplex: generating power to make life simple Most of the Domino LED fixtures have been conceived and built to function with -V DC power. An electronic device, called Simplex, directly embedded inside the base board holding the LEDs, allows them all to be fed by a -V source, avoiding the need to rely on more complex DC ballasts, commonly known as drivers, and the relatively complex electrical wiring they require. This makes it easier to do the following: Choose the ballast required for the entire lighting system: it will be sufficient to calculate the total power of the fittings plus a 5% safety factor. From series to parallel connection: simplifying wiring operations and reducing installation costs. simplex: fi xtures that mean safety The Simplex technology, which distinguishes our products, protects and preserves them from the typical problems of LED sources. Our products are in fact protected from the damage caused by inversions of polarity, potential overvoltage and possible overheating thanks to a self-restoring thermal fuse, and from the damage caused by peaks of tension. 8

Our fi ttings are conceived for the future, and built to be managed by the most advanced domotic systems. domino led: do not fear heat Aluminum as a material to disperse the heat, the heat sinks are designed to ensure that the LED sources function properly. A signifi cant part of the product range also features two cooling systems. A fi rst level to manage and protect the joint temperature is guaranteed by a forced ventilation system that acts directly on the inner workings of the lamp. A microprocessor included in the printed circuit board, interacts with the ventilation system and in cases of severe overheating automatically reduces the temperature to under 6 C, by diminishing current feeding. 9

Even the choice of materials plays a fundamental role: A new aluminum alloy 66 developed in recent years to conform to new environmental standards (presence of lead <.%) and 6 stainless steel used in marine applications, are deployed in the fi nishing of the ring nut. The fi nished surface oxidation (thickness µ) guarantees an excellent resistance to weather agents, furthermore there is a process of polishing which makes the fi ttings shine like precious objects and ensures their elegance. sliding ring An innovative system allows the adjustability of the lighting fi tting even after long periods of operation or inactivity. The printed circuit board allows to maximize the surface of contact with the heat sink in a way to control the temperature of the led junction within the operation limits (6 C). 6 heat sink To maintain the highest levels of lighting effi ciency and led s durability, the heat sink, in aluminium, is designed and built for each individual device allowing the functioning to pre-established temperatures. Moreover, the thickness and shape of the strips allow heat to be dissipated in false ceiling avoiding its release into the environment. 7 cooling fan The cooling fan is made of anti-dust materials which allows it to function normally even after long periods of inactivity, the cooling device can be driven to % of its rated speed. This not only guarantees a high lifetime but also low power consumption and absolute silence of the mechanism. The choice is restricted to the characteristics of direct current power supplies on the market. The variables that characterize the right power supply are: the total number of the led in the lighting system, the amount of light to be provided by the system and the amount of current ma to feed the system;. normal power supplies at or volts cannot be used 5. series connection. risk of led burning by reversing the polarity 5. with Driver power supply is indispensable to size the wiring for a maximum of LEDs.
