8 DHDOS/DHDOM - Routing, Scheduling and Monitoring Software Manual 4 The DHD Operation Server (DHDOS) The DHD Operation Server (DHDOS) is a file based database software. It runs on a server PC and is the interconnection between DHD devices and DHD Operation Manager entities. It is necessary to run the DHDOS software for the use of the following DHDOM licenses: Routing/Scheduling Software Routing Software Routing Software, single matrix Snapshot Manager Software Remote Control Software DSP Control Software Installation and Setup The software runs on every standard PC with Windows XP. The temporary data rate can be very enormous dependent on the simultaneous executed commands. Because of this you should use a PC equipped with up-to-date hardware. The PC should have at least a 2 GHz CPU and 512 MB RAM. It is not needed to install the DHD Operation Server (DHDOS). Before starting the first time you only have to copy the software from the shipped CD to your PC. You can copy the software (DHDOS.exe) manually from the CD onto the PC or you just follow the automatically started installation process, after inserting the CD. Additionally the file OSDataImport.dll is needed. Important You are able to administrate several devices with the same Project ID with one DHDOS entity. It is not possible to administrate more devices with different Project IDs with the same DHDOS entity. It is possible to control devices of different projects (with different Project IDs) by several DHDOS entities on the same PC. Therefore, these other entities of the DHDOS and their Files folders need to be stored in other directories. If you want to open several entities of the DHDOS on the same PC, you need to activate the function Allow several servers on this computer. Choose a directory on your local hard disk (e.g., C:\dhdos) for the files DHDOS.exe and OSDataImport.dll. Take care that only authorised users have access to this directory. Make sure that there is enough free space on the hard disk. The actual required space on the volume depends on the number of events and the chosen logging options.the required space can exceed 100 MB after a while. A subfolder named Files is created in the path where the server is located, when you start the DHD Operation Server (DHDOS) for the first time. In this folder you can find the file DHDOS.OSP. This file includes all data concerning the device or the devices. Furthermore a backup of the data base file is saved into the subfolder DHDOS-BAK.OSP. If the DHDOS indicates an error in the database file, the software automatically saves a copy of the current DHDOS.OSP file - named DHDOS.OSP.defect - and renames the latest backup file to DHDOS.OSP. The file named DHDOS.OSP.1 is always the latest copy of the database and is used in this case. Tip It is recommended to copy the whole Files folder from time to time on an other hard disk or an other PC to create a backup manually. Also the application DHD Communication Server (DHDCS) is extracted, when you start the DHDOS for the first time. This software administrates the whole communication between DHD systems in the network and the related applications on the PC.

The DHD Operation Server (DHDOS) 9 Delete the files DHDOS.exe, OSDataImport.dll and the subfolder Files with all its files to uninstall the software. Make sure that no entity of the DHDOS is still running, before starting the uninstall process. 4.2 The DHD Communication Server (DHDCS) The DHD Communication Server (DHDCS) is a software application which handles the communication between the DHD applications on your PC and the DHD systems in the network. This software needs not to be installed or updated manually. Each DHD application of the following list contains an entity of the DHDCS, which is extracted when you start the application and no DHDCS or an older version of the DHDCS is installed on the PC: Toolbox5 Toolbox4 Toolbox45 DHD Operation Server (DHDOS) DHD Maintenance (DHDMT) RM TFTConfig RM Routing Software RM Setup Manager RM Remote Control Software RM Bus Assign RM Fader Label Changer After extracting, the DHDCS is started at first and afterwards the proper application starts. When you exit the application, the DHDCS is closed automatically. The DHD Communication Server is already described in detail in the RM4200D manual. Until further notice, this description is also valid for all Series 52 applications without any reservations. 13 10 DHDOS/DHDOM - Routing, Scheduling and Monitoring Software Manual 4.3 Working with the DHDOS The server software plays a central role for the interconnection of DHD devices and DHDOM entities. It controls the DHD devices, receives data from these devices, sends this data to connected applications (DHDOM) on the same or several PCs and processes data of these clients. Example of use 1: In the easiest case, the DHD Operation Server (DHDOS) and the client software DHD Operation Manager (DHDOM) are running on the same PC. This is particularly proper to control, for example an Series 52 Compact Router or to backup snapshots from a mixing device. Example of use 2: This example shows a networked server/client structure. The software DHDOS is running on a server PC, which is connected to the office network and a number of client PCs (e.g., in several studios), each with a running entity of the DHD Operation Manager (DHDOM). Through a second ethernet interface the server PC is connected to the DHD devices. Example of use 3: In this case the server/client structure of the previous example is enhanced by a second, redundant entity of the DHD Operation Server (DHDOS). This copy of the DHDOS runs redundant in slave mode on a second PC and observes the processes of the master DHDOS. It is not directly connected to the device. The slave remains in this state until the master fails. If this happens, the slave gets the control of the devices and handles the communication between the several client PCs.

12 DHDOS/DHDOM - Routing, Scheduling and Monitoring Software Manual 4.4 Functions of the DHD Operation Server Double-click the file dhdos.exe to start the DHD Operation Server (DHDOS). At first an information window opens. It shows the several tasks of the starting process. The progress bar shows, which part of the software is currently loaded. A running DHDOS is indicated by its orange icon in the notification area. Right-click the icon and select Open to maximize the DHDOS program window. The DHDOS window is divided into the menu bar, a part with 5 several tabs, a logging part and the status bar. During the operation it is not needed, that this window is shown. You can minimize it by clicking contextual menu of the DHDOS icon. or select Hide in the The menu bar of the DHDOS contains the commands File, Administration, Logging and? (Help). The functions of this bar are explained in the following section. The current server time is shown in the status bar. This time matches the system time of the PC, where the server is located. If you want to use time-dependent functions of the DHDOS (e.g., executing scheduled crosspoints), we recommend to synchronize the PC time with the studio time. There are several popular applications for this. Ask your IT department for help. The status bar of the DHDOS. Amongst others the current server time is shown here. Further on, the Project ID in the status bar reflects the project, the server is administrating and if the server is running as master or slave. Additionally, in slave mode the IP address of the dedicated master server is shown.

The DHD Operation Server (DHDOS) Views Clients 13 After starting the DHDOS the Clients tab is selected. Here you can see a list of all users and applications, which are currently connected to the server. The Clients tab. Shows all connected applications. Each entity of the DHD Operation Manager (DHDOM), connected to the server, is listed as a client application in the Application column. Furthermore, you get information about the connected users and how long the connections are online. A slave entity of the DHDOS is controlled by the master server. This connection is shown in the Application by the name Slave Server and the dedicated user name is Replicator. column Version

14 DHDOS/DHDOM - Routing, Scheduling and Monitoring Software Manual Devices The connected devices are shown on the Devices tab. In the respective columns you can find detailed information on the device type, its serial number and the IP address as well as a the connection between the device and the DHDOS is established. Optional the Device Name is shown if the devices owns such a name. The view Devices lists the devices, connected to the DHDOS. Please see the section Administration Menu / Data & Devices to find out how to add or remove devices Schedules The Schedules tab shows two lists. In the upper list you can see all active scheduling events. The list below shows the scheduling events, planned for the next 24 hours. You can find the active and upcoming scheduling events in the view Schedules. In both lists are respectively shown the start time, the end time, the switching duration and the name of a the scheduling events Outputs This tab is only useful for debug trace on the part of DHD and under normal circumstances it is not necessary to take care about this tab.

The DHD Operation Server (DHDOS) Statistics This tab is only useful for debug trace on the part of DHD and under normal circumstances it is not necessary to take care about this tab Menu Functions File Menu Exit Exit closes the DHD Operation Server (DHDOS). At certain situations you will get an advice, when closing the program. This message advices you, that upcoming scheduling events will not be executed after closing the server. Nevertheless, you can continue the process after acknowledge Administration Menu Data & Devices First of all you need to connect the DHD Operation Server (DHDOS) with one or more devices. This step has to be done each time you want to add a new device. In the Administration Menu, select Data & Devices to open the Devices window. The Device window; connecting to a device. Add a new device by clicking Add device. The Select device window opens. Here you can choose whether you want to download the configuration from a running device in the network (Select device) or if you want to use the data of a configuration file (Select file). Version

16 DHDOS/DHDOM - Routing, Scheduling and Monitoring Software Manual Selection of a device configuration. Click Select device to load the configuration data from a running device. Selecting a device in the DHD Connection Dialog. If there is already an existing project and the dedicated server is only restarted, the connection to the device does not need to be established again. In this case, the information about the connection are stored in the server project file. If the device you want to use is not reachable in the network or you prefer to load the configuration of the system out of a file, you can do that by using the option Toolbox5 project to choose a file from a drive (Select file). Is there more than one device available in the project file, you have to choose the desired device. By selecting a Toolbox5 project file, the software automatically searches the network for DHD devices with the corresponding Project ID of the project file

The DHD Operation Server (DHDOS) 17 and connects to the chosen device. In the Device window, you can find three more buttons. Click Update device to reload the device configuration if you have made changes in the Toolbox5 project. The update procedure is similar to adding a new device. Click Remove to delete the selected device from the list. The Assign window opens if you click Assign Serial Number. Click Select to use the DHD Connection Dialog to choose a device. Select the Auto detect via PID/DID check box to enable the detection of the device by its project ID (PID) and its device ID (DID). In case of wrong configuration (e.g., two devices have the same project ID and the same device ID) this auto detection mode may not work correctly. To be able to select the desired device manually, deactivate this check box and enter the serial number of the device (the last 3 bytes of the MAC address). Important If the DHD Operation Server is connected to a 52/XR MADI Router and this device is equipped with Communication Controller redundancy, it is essential to activate the Auto detect via PID/DID check box, otherwise the DHDOS is not able to connect to the second controller if the master fails. Assign a serial number. Project Options Identification The character string in the text box Server Description identifies a DHDOS project. This identification is shown within the DHD Operation Manager (DHDOM) logon. Version

18 DHDOS/DHDOM - Routing, Scheduling and Monitoring Software Manual In the DHDOM login window, the DHD Operation Server entities are represented by the Server Description. The Server Description is an arbitrary character string and can contain all characters in the range A-Z, a-z and 0-9. The number of characters is limited to 32. If you have not entered a string in the text box, the software will automatically use the Project ID as Server Description. The Project ID is imported from the Toolbox project and should not be changed. Server Preferences General If the check box Quit server without confirmation is activated, the safety message is blocked that comes up normally, when the server is closed and the software application is closed immediately. Activate the check box Run Server in DemoMode if you want to operate the DHDOS in demo mode.

The DHD Operation Server (DHDOS) 19 Use the the function Allow several servers on this computer to be able to open several DHDOS entities at the same time on the same PC. Logging You can assign basic settings for the operation of the DHD Operation Server (DHDOS) in the Server Preferences window. Click on the entry Server Preferences in the Administration menu to open its configuring window. It shows 3 tabs. At the first tab you can make settings concerning the logging of commands. The Log File tab of the server preferences window. Logging Output The three radio buttons enables you to select where the logging data should be saved. Activate the File option to log only in a file. The Window option only shows the information in the logging part of the DHDOS. Choose the Both option to log in a file and to see the logging data currently on the screen. Log File Use the text box Log File directory to set the path, where the logging data should be saved. The directory in which you had extracted the program file DHDCS.exe is preselected here. Log files include the logging data as text in ASCII format. They are named by the pattern OSyyyy-mm-dd-xyz.log (e.g., OS log). yyyy stands for the year, mm for the month and dd for the day, when the log file was started. xyz gets incremented if the optionstart new file after x MB is activated. The option Delete files that are older than x day(s) gives you the possibility, that files with a certain age are getting deleted automatically. This option is deactivated by default. Values between 1 and 100 can be entered. Version

20 DHDOS/DHDOM - Routing, Scheduling and Monitoring Software Manual Important When choosing the directory for the logging files, make sure, that your Windows user account holds write access for this directory! Activate Start new file after x MB to limit the size of the files. This function is not activated by default. All data is written in one single file. Depending on the data traffic, the file can become quite big after a while. You can avoid this by activating this option to adapt the file size to your expectations. So, the logging data is divided into several files. Log events All options in the Log events part are deactivated by default. Activate User Actions to log activities of connected clients. If you want to log only user actions, which are not allowed to use by the respective user, you additionally have to activate the option Only when action denied. The option Master Server Change logs the messages, which are generated if the current DHDOS master drops out and a redundant entity of the DHDOS becomes master. Activate Log logic states to record logical state changes. Communication The ethernet interface of your PC, that is used by the DHDOS to communicate with the DHD network, can be specified on the communication tab. It is recommended to select the network card manually. In automatic mode is not guaranteed, that the DHD Operation Server communicates with the right network. If the message No Network Adapters Available is shown or the desired network adapter is not in the list, please check that the network card is installed correctly. Security In the security dialog you can define, whether changes concerning the server settings can only be done after entering a password. So, it is possible to protect the current settings. This security gate can be activated after a defined time (Lock administration automatically after x minutes). Additionally, this gate can be activated by minimizing the application window (when hiding the server window). All options of the Security tab are deactivated by default. By activating the security check, a new entry (Lock Administration) is added to the Administration menu. The entry is greyed out as long as the administrator is not logged in. If he is logged in, it is possible to log out by clicking this entry.

The DHD Operation Server (DHDOS) Logging Menu Suppress Memo Logging (F5) It is possible that some times a lot of messages are shown in the logging area within a short time. The amount of incoming messages depends on the number and the type of the logged messages. You can stop the write out with the command Suppress Memo Logging, if the content of the logging area gets overwritten to fast. Try the command again to continue the write out. Afterwards the protocol tells you how much messages have been skipped during the write out was stopped. Note If in the Server Preferences is defined that the messages are logged into a file too, this will also be done, when you have stopped the write out on the screen. Clear Memo (F8) Use this command to clear the logging area. The logged messages in the log file are not effected by this command. Show Log File (F4) This command opens the log file in the standard editor of your PC. Clear Log File You can delete the content of the current log file by execute Clear Log File. This process needs to be confirmed by the user Help Menu About This command opens the Information window of the DHD Operation Server (DHDOS). Therein the version of the DHDOS and its publication date is shown. Moreover you can find DHD support contact information. Information on DHDOS. Version

22 DHDOS/DHDOM - Routing, Scheduling and Monitoring Software Manual License Administration Via the License Administration entry in the Help Menu?, you reach the Software Licensing window. The DHDOS Software Licensing window. Choose the device in the pull-down menu For device you want to add a license to. Enter the license code in the text box Enter license code here. You receive the license code from DHD. This code is created depending on your individual device (serial number), the used software and may be it is also based on further options. Therefore, the license code can not be used for an other device. The Apply button gets selectable when you have entered the code completely. Now, confirm your settings with OK or abort the process with Cancel. The successfully transfer of the license is acknowledged: If it was not possible to transfer the license into the device, the following message appears:

The DHD Operation Server (DHDOS) 23 Check the connection to the device and whether its the right device or not. May be the connection is established in demo mode, that does not support this procedure. The following message comes up if it is possible to transfer the license into the device, but it does not fit: Please check that the entered license suits to the device if you have received several license codes from DHD. Verify your entry depending on the correct notation. Important Please note that the entry of the code is case sensitive. Hence, enter the code exactly like you have received it from DHD. In the text box Licence Info all activated license options for this device are shown. Check the content of this text box after entering a license code to determine whether the license code was stored correctly or not. Version

24 DHDOS/DHDOM - Routing, Scheduling and Monitoring Software Manual 5 DHD Operation Manager (DHDOM) Basic Functions The DHDOM includes several software applications and functions that can be activated by license codes. The DHDOM can be considered as a stage that makes it possible to easily integrate new functions and applications. It is the basic software for the following products/licenses: Routing/Scheduling Software Routing Software Routing Software, single matrix Additional license for Additional license for Monitoring Software Snapshot Manager Software Remote Control Software DSP Control Software (extension is possible) Double click the file DHDOM.exe to start the application. The PCs you use for operating DHDOM entities should have at least a 2 GHz CPU and 512 MB RAM. If you want to use the Remote Control and/or the DSP Control software, DHD recommends to use a CPU with several cores and 1GB RAM. The DHD Operation Manager (DHDOM) has a two-stage login process. Directly after starting the software you will be asked to which DHD Operation Server you want to connect to. For this you have to choose the according system in the drop down menu. Connecting to an DHD Operation Server (DHDOS). Depending on the licenses in the devices, some of the activated functions are already available after this first login step (e.g., Quick Monitor Buttons). But for the most functions you have to login as an authorised user to be able to use these options.

DHD Operation Manager (DHDOM) Basic Functions 25 User login of the DHDOM. Use the following data for your first login. For safety reasons you should change the password afterwards. (See User Management). Username: Administrator Password: DHD Please notice that the username and the password are case sensitive! Is there only one DHDOS reachable, its name is shown in the login window and the software will automatically connect to this DHDOS entity. A drop down menu appears if there are several DHDOS entities reachable in the network. Select the device you want to control. The selection of the DHDOS entity at the user login is not depending on the first login step. That means, you can choose a DHDOS entity you want to connect to in the first step and then you may swap to an other project at the user login step. The different software applications of the DHDOM and their subunits are opened in several tabs. After the user has logged in, the same tabs are opened he had used before he logged out last time. If any problem occurs with a tab during the login process, this tab is closed automatically and will be not opened at future logins. For instance a user had opened a matrix and afterwards the administrator blocks the access right to this matrix. 5.1 Logon to a DHDOS Entity via a Fixed IP Address If there are several DHD Operation Server entities reachable in the network, the DHDOM asks for the entity it should connect to. Provided that you want to connect always to the same DHDOS entity, you can appoint these entity. Therefore, you need to add the command -FixedIP: and the IP address of the server PC to the prompt. An easy way to handle this, is to create a shortcut for the DHDOM. Right click the shortcut and open its properties window. Enter the additional command behind the directory as it is shown in the picture below, including the IP address of the PC the DHD Operation Server you want to connect to is running on. Version

26 DHDOS/DHDOM - Routing, Scheduling and Monitoring Software Manual Editing shortcut properties. By executing this shortcut, the DHDOM directly connects to the predefined server PC. If you have not assigned a user that is logged in automatically (see Workstations), the user needs to login afterwards. User login to a predefined server PC. If slave entities of the DHDOS are running on other server PCs of the same network, you can add their IP addresses to

DHD Operation Manager (DHDOM) Basic Functions 27 achieve automatically connection to these redundant entities. You just have to add further FixedIP commands to the prompt: -FixedIP:<IP address of the general server PC> -FixedIP:<IP address of the first redundancy server PC> FixedIP:<IP address of the second redundancy server PC>... Version

28 DHDOS/DHDOM - Routing, Scheduling and Monitoring Software Manual 5.2 Licensing The DHD Operation Manager (DHDOM) is a DHD software product that needs to be licensed. That means, you are using the DHDOM software, but you have to purchase one or several licenses for this software. The software application DHD Operation Manager can be operated with different functional range. DHD provides several licenses to make the system cost-effective depending on your special needs. Note For the snapshot management without user administration (for backup purposes) no license is needed. The Licensing is always hardware related. In the RM4200D DSP Frame the licenses are stored in the RM /853 Communication Controller. Please take care about this fact if you need to replace the original controller with an spare part. In all new developed devices (Series 52), the license code is stored in an EEPROM on the backplane of the respective frame. Currently, this concerns the frames /6066/5063. If these frames are used, it is not needed to renew the licenses after a controller exchange. This fact makes it easier to work with spare parts. Important DHDOM licenses are always related to DHD hardware. Licenses related to a PC, as it is known from RM4200D software applications, are not available! Temporary licenses for software and functionality tests can be ordered at DHD. You can use every routing and scheduling function described in the DHDOM Routing, Scheduling and Monitoring Software manual if you purchase the license Routing/Scheduling Software. Contrary to the license , with the license Routing Software it is not possible to do scheduling. That means crosspoints can not be controlled time triggered. The license Routing Software, single matrix view is related to the license , but with this license it is only possible to create and administrate one matrix. The license is mainly suited for the 52/CR Compact Router. If you hold the license, you can extend it for an arbitrary number of users. Therefore, you need one or more licenses of the type Additional license for For the license it is quite the same. In this case you have to order the license Additional license for If you want to use some workstations only for monitoring, the license Monitoring Software, 20 licenses should be the best choice. At these workstations, all inputs - that are enabled for monitoring by the administrator - can be routed to a defined stereo output. But for administrative purposes you need one of the licenses , or As aforementioned the snapshot management is free for one user (for the administrator). To be able to handle snapshots of a DHD system by several users, you need to purchase the license Snapshot Manager Software. With the license Remote Control Software it is possible to remote control DHD devices. To control the parameters of the DSP functions (e.g., EQs, compressors...) the DSP Control Software license is needed. In conjunction with RM4200D systems, this software application was formerly known as "Access Software". You will get one or several license codes from DHD depending on the ordered licenses and your individual devices. These codes can be transmitted to the device with the DHDOS and are afterwards enduring saved in the device. Please find further information on the licensing process itself in the section License Administration.

DHD Operation Manager (DHDOM) Basic Functions 29 The DHD Operation Server gets the number of valid licenses from the devices and allows the defined number of connections to the devices. In the following examples, 25 workstations can operate the DHDOM at the same time. But that does not mean, that the licenses are reserved for 25 dedicated workstations. You can configure an arbitrary number of workstations to operate the DHDOM, but the number of workstations, that are able to connect to the devices at the same time, depends on the type and the number of licenses in the devices. In the first example routing and scheduling is activated for 5 workstations. Therefore, in this example the routing and scheduling software is purchased once and became extended with 4 additional licenses of the type In parallel 20 further edit stations can be run in monitor mode in this case. For this, you need additionally the license Example 1: Licenses - 1x , 4x , 1x Version

30 DHDOS/DHDOM - Routing, Scheduling and Monitoring Software Manual The structure of the second example is quite the same like in example 1, but other licenses are used. In this example the user does not need the time triggered control of crosspoints, hence the license without scheduling function is used together with 4 licenses of the type Because in this case the license is purchased as well, 20 edit stations can be used at the same time for monitoring like in example 1. Example 2: Licenses - 1x , 4x , 1x

DHD Operation Manager (DHDOM) Basic Functions User Management Administrators are able to create several users with different priorities. Settings from users with a higher priority are valued as more important then settings from users with lower priority. The users, created in Toolbox5, are imported automatically. Normally, a technician should have more rights then a DJ, because a DJ is mostly not technical trained enough. On the other hand, of course a DJ should be able to control the functions he needs to set. Click on the symbol in the tool bar to open the User Accounts window. The user accounts are shown and you can edit them and add new users. Alternatively, you can reach this window via the Administration menu. Create and edit user accounts. Common Click on the button Add below the User Accounts list to create a new user. The command Remove deletes the currently selected user from the list. Use Copy to duplicate users and their settings. Imported Toolbox5 users can not be copied. Enter a login name for the user in the text box Username on the Common tab. Set a password for the user in the text box Password and enter it again in the text box Password again. You have to assign a new password to a copied user, since the password is not taken over. It is necessary to enter a 4-digit PIN only containing numbers for all users that should be able to login at the console. The account can be activated and deactivated by the check box User account enabled. Note The account of the super administrator can not be removed! Moreover, it is not possible to deactivate the account or to change the priority. Login name and password can be changed. Also the Nobody account can not be removed and only a few settings are possible to adapt. Please find more information on this account in the Features section. Version

32 DHDOS/DHDOM - Routing, Scheduling and Monitoring Software Manual Important All the passwords must differ from each other, because the system only compares the passwords and PINs respectively and not the usernames. Furthermore, an imported user is not the Toolbox5 user itself, it is a copy of this user. That means the Toolbox5 user and the Operation Manager user are two different users with the same name and PIN. Conversely, changing the name and/or the PIN of an imported user does not influence the user created by the Toolbox5. User Rights Use the check box Administrator in the User Rights section to assign global administrative rights to an user or define the importance of the user by selecting the User Priority (1 = high priority, 10 = low priority). Every workstation is assigned to a virtual mixer (see Workstations). It is possible to allow an user to work with all virtual mixers of a DHD system. Therefore, select the check box Override Mixer Association. The Authorisation section shows the relationship between the currently selected user and the authorisation groups. These relations can not be changed for imported Toolbox5 users. Features For every user can be defined, which applications and features of the DHDOM he is allowed to use depending on the workstation he logged on. Basically, you can assign the desired rights to all workstations and afterwards it is possible to allow or deny special options for the use in conjunction with certain PCs. Or you only configure single workstations from the outset. Assigning available features and options to users.

DHD Operation Manager (DHDOM) Basic Functions 33 Proceed as follows to release the available features to users: Mark one or several users in the User Accounts list. Choose a workstation or the All Workstations tab in the Configured Features section. The right-handed list shows the Available Features. Drag'n'drop the features from the Available Features list to the Configured Features list to release them. The other way round, access to already released options can be denied. Alternatively, you can also use the arrow buttons between the lists to carry out these assignments. If you assign a feature to all workstations and remove this feature for single workstations afterwards, on the All Workstations tab this feature is marked in the column Differences with the term Partially Denied. Vice versa, features that were assigned to single workstations only are marked with Partially Allowed. The Available Features that can be released in detail: Snapshot Manager: Release of the Backups, Mixer Snapshots and Channel Snapshots tabs. Please note, that it is necessary to allow mixer and channel snapshot transfers between each virtual mixer and the DHD Operation Server. Hence you can find the Snapshot Manager entry again for each virtual mixer in the list. Monitoring: Release of the Monitoring Sources tab and the Quick Buttons. Scheduling: Release of the All Scheduled Tasks tab. Remote Control: All available Remote Control Views are listed and can be released. Features on <device>: This branch includes all settings that are related to a device. If there are several devices in the project, separate entries for each device are listed. DSP Control: All available Fixed Processings of the device are listed and can be released. Routing: All configured Matrices of the device are listed and can be released for routing. Scheduling: All configured Matrices of the device are listed and can be released for scheduling. Mixer: This branch includes all settings that are related to a virtual mixer. If a device contains several virtual mixers, separate entries for each virtual mixer are listed. DSP Control: All available Fader Channel Processings of the virtual mixer are listed and can be released. Snapshot Manager: Release of the Mixer and Channel Snapshot Transfer rights to allow snapshot transfers between the respective virtual mixer and the DHD Operation Server. In the User Accounts list you can find a special account called Nobody. This account represents the situation that no user is logged in at the console and is only intended to make it possible to exchange snapshots between the device and the server PC without a user login. If the Nobody account is selected, only the Features tab is provided. Instead of the release of features to the available workstations, in this case the features can be assigned to the Console. Console Options If you activate the check box Allow Console Login, the user is able to login at the console. You need to reenter the password, because in this case the password must be a 4-digit PIN. Since the password is protected, it is not possible for the software to check the existing password, even if this is already an 4-digit PIN. By using the Console Autolock function, you can determine if a user needs to log in again after a certain time. Select a predefined time duration from the pull-down menu (2, 5, 10, 15, 20 or 30 minutes) or select Off to disable this function. Activate the check box Display Name on Console to display the name of the logged in user in all displays of the control modules. Note For imported Toolbox5 users, the settings of the Console Options tab are adopted from the Toolbox5 project and the function Allow Console Login is enabled. These settings can not be changed for imported users. Press Apply to save your settings if you want to continue with the user configuration or press OK to save and close the User Accounts window. It is possible to undo all settings and reload the state you had saved last by pressing Cancel. Version

34 DHDOS/DHDOM - Routing, Scheduling and Monitoring Software Manual 5.4 Demo Mode You can operate the DHD Operation Manager (DHDOM) in demo mode. Switching to demo mode is possible by using the demo mode function of the DHDOS (see function Run Server in DemoMode). To enable this demo mode follow these steps: 1. Start the DHD Operation Server. 2. In the notification area (in the taskbar), right-click on the DHD Operation Server icon and select OPEN. 2. On the Administration menu, click Server Preferences. 3. On the General tab, select the Run Server in DemoModeMode check box. Click OK. 4. On the Administration menu, click Data & Devices. 5. Click Add device. 6. Select Toolbox5 project and select your Toolbox config file. 7. In the Select Device list, select the device, which do you want to use for routings. Click OK. 8. The device shows up in the Device window. Click OK. 9. Start DHD Operation Manager software. 10. In the Logon to list, select your device. Click OK. 11. On the File menu, click Login. 12. Default Username: Administrator Default Password: DHD Click OK. Within the demo mode you are able to edit the configuration of DHD devices, even if you have no physical access to the devices. Note Basically, you can use all commands of the software in demo mode as if you are connected to the device. But some functions/displays require an interaction with the device. That is why some options of the DHDOM are not usable in demo mode or are only executed/shown in a simplified way. However, the settings are only saved local and will not be send into the network. In the title of the DHDOS and DHDOM windows, you can find an information that the software is running in demo mode. Cut outs of the DHDOS and DHDOM windows.
