Davern, CFA Senior Vice President, Client Portfolio Manager, Nuveen Investments Mr. Davern serves as one of Nuveen s chief spokesmen for municipal bond investments, bringing a unique perspective as a long-time manager of municipal bond investments. With more than 23 years of investment experience, he began his municipal bond career at Fuji Bank, and then Van Kampen Merrit as a senior credit analyst. He joined Nuveen as the head of Credit Research of Flagship Resources in Mr. Davern earned his undergraduate degree from Illinois Benedictine University and his master s degree in Finance from the University of Illinois. He is a member of the Chicago Municipal Analysts Society and the CFA Institute. Richard Higgerson Regional Sales Manager, Licensed Broker, Lang McLaughry Spera Real Estate Mr. Higgerson is a Certified Residential Specialist (CRS), a Certified Buyer s Representative (CBR), and an Accredited Buyer s Representative (ABR), and also holds the National Association of REALTORS e-pro certification. After passing the Vermont Salesperson s Examination in 1996, Mr. Higgerson served as the President and Managing Partner of Macallan Properties, Ltd., from 1995 to He joined McLaughry Real Estate (now Lang McLaughry Spera Real Estate) in May of With his comprehensive experience in real estate and small business management, and an intimate knowledge of the Upper Valley region, Mr. Higgerson works to help both buyers and sellers of Vermont & New Hampshire property achieve their real estate goals. Dr. Robyn Jacobs Practitioner and Proprietor, Hygeia: Optimal Health Through Functional Medicine Dr. Robyn Jacobs received her medical degree from Dartmouth Medical School and completed an OB/Gyn residency at Bethesda Naval Hospital. After practicing standard OB/Gyn for 10 years she began studying Functional Medicine, which is a holistic approach to the treatment of complex chronic illness. She currently practices functional medicine and women s health through her practice, Hygeia: Optimal Health through Functional Medicine in Lebanon, New Hampshire. David W. Nelson, CAIA, CIMC, CIMA Vice President, Divisional Director - East Division, Calamos Investments Mr. Nelson is a Vice President/Divisional Director for Calamos Investments and is responsible for overseeing the East Division. In this capacity, he is responsible for the firm s wholesale distribution of mutual funds and separately managed accounts. He joined Calamos in 2010 from Frontier Asset Management, LLC, bringing over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry. Mr. Nelson earned a B.A. (cum laude) and an M.B.A. from the University of Denver and holds Series 7, 24, 27 and 63 licenses. In addition, he is a published author on business development and practice management, and holds the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst, Certified Investment Management Consultant, and Certified Investment Management Analyst designations.
6 SPEAKERS (Continued) C LIEN T U NIVERSIT Y Cathleen Toomey Vice President of Marketing, RiverWoods at Exeter Cathleen has more than 30 years of experience in marketing, advertising and public relations, building brands for consumer products such as Timberland and Stonyfield Farm as well as for non-profit higher education institutions such as Babson College, Bentley University, and the University of New Hampshire. A graduate of Fordham University (M.A.) and Fairfield University (B.A.), Cathleen began her career in ad agency work in New York City, and continued in the same field later in Boston. She has directed the sales and marketing efforts of RiverWoods for the past six years, and her team launched and filled a brand-new campus ahead of schedule. John H. Vogel, Jr. Professor, Tuck School of Business, Dartmouth College Professor Vogel has been a member of the faculty at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth since He currently teaches Real Estate and Entrepreneurship in the Social Sector. The Business Week Guide to Business Schools named him as one of Tuck s Outstanding Faculty members. In addition to Tuck, Professor Vogel has also been a member of the faculty at the Harvard Business School, the Harvard Graduate School of Design, and the Yale School of Management. He has an extensive consulting practice, and has provided consulting and training programs to the Bank of America, CB Richard Ellis, Citibank, General Electric, the City of Seattle, and the City of Boston. Professor Vogel has been involved in the real estate industry as a practitioner, consultant and professor for more than 30 years; he began his real estate career in 1982 as one of the founders of Copley Real Estate Advisors, which grew to be the third largest manager of real estate investments for pension funds in the United States. Justine Vogel, CPA President and CEO, RiverWoods at Exeter Ms. Vogel is a graduate of Rutgers University School of Business, and holds a B.S. in Accounting. Justine began her work at RiverWoods as part of the pre-opening team in June, Her tenure at RiverWoods began as the Director of Accounting, with growth into the role of CFO in 1997, COO in 2005, and President/CEO in Ms. Vogel s prior experience includes several years in auditing and financial analysis with Arthur Andersen & Co., Ernst & Young, and Chubb Life Insurance Company. Ms. Vogel is a certified public accountant in the state of New Jersey, and serves as a Trustee and Treasurer of the Board of Directors for Leading Age of Maine and New Hampshire. Ms. Vogel has lectured at the University of New Hampshire and is a frequent speaker at local, regional and national industry conferences on topics including strategic management, growth planning, cultural development and financial oversight. David L. Wilson, Jr., CFA Senior Investment Analyst, The Vanguard Group Mr. Wilson is a senior investment analyst in the Vanguard Portfolio Review Department. Prior to joining Vanguard in 2008, Mr. Wilson spent 12 years as a portfolio manager at Brown Brothers Harriman & Co. in Philadelphia. He was also previously the Chief Investment Officer at Laurentian Capital. Before that, he was a portfolio manager and analyst at Penn Mutual Life Insurance Co., Philadelphia Saving Fund Society, and First Pennsylvania Bank. Mr. Wilson is a CFA charterholder and is a member of the CFA Society of Pennsylvania. He earned a B.A. in History at Haverford College, and an M.B.A. in Finance from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. He holds the FINRA Series 7 License.
