5 Main principles in joint financing of R&D&I Joint R&D&I FASIE finances a Russian small company, Tekes a Finnish SME (1 Russian SE + 1 Finnish innovative SME + additional partners as universities, research institutes are welcome) ALL technological sectors and services Tekes share maximum of , FASIE / grant 50% Average duration - 24 months Creates added value for BOTH partners IP rights negotiable between partners

6 Definition of a small innovative enterprise (SIE) in Russia Company with a commercial legal status Company carrying out R&D with the further and producing product based on Intellectual Property Rights belonging to a company Company with a number of employees not exceeding 100 people Turnover less than 14 mln EUR Share capital: less than 25% belonging to foreign companies and individuals, state and large businesses (exception- spin offs) SME (small and medium-sized enterprises) in Finland The consolidated staff number less than 250 persons and an annual turnover not exceeding 50 million euro, And/or an annual balance sheet total not exceeding 43 million euro

7 First Results Since February calls for proposals 54 applications, 16 projects selected for funding* *Tekes share approx. 1,8 M Thematically: - 1 st and 2 nd call -> healthbio - 3 rd call -> energy, ICT, transport etc. Geographically: - Russia: majority (80%) from Moscow - Finland: from all over the country In future two calls per year
