1 Adopt-A-Family Holiday Shopping Please keep these families, and their needs, in mind as you go about your Holiday shopping. A Sign-up Genius form contains the specific item requests from each of the families. If you see something that you would like to help out with, just mark off the item. Or, if you'd rather not shop, every one of these families would benefit greatly from gift cards. You can drop off your wrapped items and gift cards anytime through December 16th in the school office. All donations are tax-deducible, so please grab your receipt from the school office as well. Family # 1 Family of four living in a one-bedroom apartment in San Mateo. Husband recently lost his job and working. Family struggling as mom recently gave birth to a baby boy. Mom struggled with diabetes during pregnancy and is now having a hard time eating healthy because healthy food is so expensive. Family would benefit from gift card for basic necessities. Target, Safeway, Sears, and a Chevron gas card would be helpful. Likes Trader Joes and spending time at the movies with husband. Mom: clothing size XL, requesting rain boots size 10, pajamas and slippers. Soft blanket for bed and toiletries for bathroom. Dad: Men s size large clothing. Gift certificate to Ace Hardware. Would like Obsession cologne. Boy: 5 year-old boy. Loves super heroes. Ninja turtles, batman, Spiderman. Needs size 2 shoes. Likes converse and DC shoes. Loves to shop at Talbots in San Mateo. Baby boy: needs 12 month boy clothes, size 4 diapers and wipes. Baby toys. Bath toys and soap. Family #2 Teen mom living in East Palo Alto. Client is a domestic violence victim and struggling as a single parent. Client lives with mom but has a difficult relationship with her mom so as a result of her stress is losing a lot of weight. Mom trying to work but works late at night when daughters are asleep and roommate can watch her daughter. Target, Nordstrom Rack, Pueblo, Home Depot, Starbucks, and an Arco gas card would be helpful. Likes Pluto s restaurant and Cheesecake Factory. Mom: size small clothes, size 7 tennis shoes. Needs socks and underwear. Would like grey bath towels. Soft blanket. Slippers. 2 year old girl: needs winter clothes. Long sleeve onesies (24 months). 3T pants. Socks. Size 9 toddler shoes. Coloring crayons and paper. Bath toys and soaps. 5 year girl: Loves music. Loves Disney store. Size 6 clothing pants, underwear, and socks. Wants a small TV for bedroom to play DVD s. Disney princess toys.

Children with developmental delays and behavioral problems. Family would benefit from Target, Safeway, Sears, Home Depot and a Shell gas card to pay for necessities. Mom: Size medium pajamas. Slippers (size 8). Would like make-up and gift certificate to get nails done. Joanne s for art supplies. Dad: Needs pants and XL shirts. Would love a tool box to stores tools. 13 year old girl: Loves shopping with friends. Wants a mountain bike. Wears women s size medium clothes. 10 year old boy: Loves Game Stop. Needs baseball equipment. Size large boy s clothes. Size 2 shoes. Like large Lego sets. 7 year old girl: size small girl clothes. Size 3 shoes. Sleeping bag and pillow. Warm clothes and pajamas. Loves Disney store. American Girl doll. 4 year old girl: Size 6 girl clothes. Wants art projects. Kindergarten workbooks. Loves the color purple and play dough. Family #4 Single mom raising an autistic 3 year old son alone. Mom struggling to pay bills while working at Walgreens. Mom would like gift certificate to Trader Joes, Safeway, Walgreens, and Chevron Gas cards. Likes to take son to Applebee s and Chili s. Mom: silverware, size medium pajamas and slippers. Gift card to mall to go shopping. Mom likes to spend time with son and take him to fun places on weekends. 3 year old boy- size 5 clothes, socks, size 6 shoes, Pajamas, play dough, toys, likes to play with balls. Bath toys and soaps. Family #5 Family of 4 isolated and living in an abandoned house until they can afford rent. Family has a lot of animals so finding a place has been difficult. Home owners are trying to evict family but since the owners live out of state they process has been delayed. Mom with multiple medical conditions that prevent her from working and father working just to pay bills. Family could use gift certificates to cover bills and necessities. Gas card to Shell/ Chevron, gift card to CVS, Sears, Macys, Target. Mom: gift card to Applebee s or in and out. Women s size 8 shoes, warm winter clothes size large. Needs pots and pans. Toiletries. Would love to enroll family in swim lessons but cannot afford to. Dad: XL clothes, gift certificate to home depot and Ace Hardware. Would like gas card and place to take wife to dinner and a movie. 7 year old boy: love Camo style clothing and bedding. Size XL in boys clothing. Needs bedding for double bed with pillows and blankets. Size 3 shoes. Loves Legos and games. Trying to save money for paintball gun to play with dad. 2 year old sister: size 3T clothes. Diapers size 5. Loves to play with toys and go to the park. Soft blanket, dolls. Bath toys and soaps. Family # 6 Pregnant mom of twin girls who are growing slow and husband does not want mom to keep babies. Husband plans on moving out shortly after twins are born. Mother also has 5 year old son with some developmental delays. Mom with high risk pregnancies and extreme stress at

Mom on dialysis for kidney problems. Family struggling as mom is unable to go to work. Son-15, son-8, daughter-5, baby boy-3 months. Family #8 Single mom living in a shelter. Pregnant with a baby girl. Mom will be moving into an apartment on December 15th. She needs bedding and blankets for a queen size bed (dark colors), and bedding for baby girl. Would love vanilla scented candles. She needs silverware and plates. She also needs soaps for dishes, laundry, showering, and new born diapers and wipes. The shelter is helping with all major furniture. She just needs basic necessities as she will not be working for 6 weeks after the baby is born. Family #9 Family living in shared house in San Mateo. Family living in 1 bedroom studio in San Mateo. House is chaotic and they can not afford to buy fresh food and vegetables. Family overwhelmed and struggling to cook as living arrangement is chaotic.
