3 Kansas Acute Care Hospital RN Workforce Survey The Registered Nurses (RNs) Workforce Survey was sent to 139 Acute Care Hospitals administrators across Kansas Aggregated organizational data on Kansas RN workforce: diversity (age, gender, race/ethnicity, and military status) Educational preparation Hospital BSN hiring policy 51 hospitals responses with a response rate of 36.7%

14 Enrollment and Graduation Enrollment: 939 students enrolled in the 11 Kansas RN-BSN programs as of February 28, Graduation: 269 students graduated from the 11 programs in 2012.

18 Obtaining RN Workforce Data & Educational Level at Time of RN License Renewal through the Kansas State Board of Nursing Proposal to Present to the Education Committee, Kansas State Board of Nursing
19 Purpose To gather data on supply of nursing workforce and current educational levels from all Kansas Registered Nurses (RN) through licensure renewal by adding additional required questions.
20 Background Multiple organizations recommend that nursing workforce data are current and publicly accessible In Kansas, a central mechanism to collect complete data about the nursing workforce is lacking National Nursing Workforce Minimum Workforce Dataset Demand Education Supply
21 Impact With comprehensive data on nursing workforce, specific initiatives and effective strategies can be developed to assist Kansas nurses advance their education. The ultimate outcome is to enhance the quality of healthcare received by all Kansans.
