1 SUMMARY REPORT YEAR 2010 STATEWIDE SURVEY OF NURSING PROGRAMS Compiled spring 2011 Introduction The Indiana Nursing Workforce Development Center (INWDC) has completed its eighth annual survey of all statewide programs within Indiana. Information gathered from the survey process includes numbers of students enrolled and graduated as well as information related to faculty needs. The INWDC Annual Survey of Schools of Nursing was sent to 26 schools offering practical nurse programs; 38 schools offering associate degree programs; and 23 schools offering bachelor degree programs. The response rate for the practical nurse programs is 54% (14/26). The response rate for the associate degree program is much lower than in previous at 50% (19/38). The response rate for the baccalaureate degree programs is 87% (20/23). All response rates are down this year and follow-up will be done to see what the solution might be to obtain a 100% response rate in future. Please note that there will be some discrepancies in data reported as not all participants responded to all inquiries on the survey and in some instances the data submitted was not in usable form to be included. 1
