4 Follow up from 2005 ACANS Tech Summit Distribute policies more efficiently Implemented ACANS News and Information Center to have continual stories on ACANS happenings University has redone the Policy Manual will be reviewed by Regents in December Official policy changed to where all official NMSU will be sent to address Revise ABCD distribution (ongoing) Post all Policies and Guidelines on the web at

5 Follow up from 2005 ACANS Tech Summit Get a searchable, collaborative knowledge base/faq for shared helpdesk Have gathered information on various products and solutions RFI currently in process Efforts toward consolidation of HD Support Create opportunity for ACANS collaboration Have started scheduling ACANS meetings quarterly including Spring Picnic and Fall Planning event Have included ACANS personnel in project committees, and product review teams (i.e. Pay-for- Print) Restarting Webmaster Meetings in Spring

7 UNO (Unifying NMSU Online) Create an policy where address is the primary address Starting March 15th all official NMSU will be sent to address. Single sign on to eliminate confusion about separate systems Single sign on has been moved one step closer by eliminating NMSU Online and merging the tools into mynmsu. 9 Facilities Master Plan OFS Campus Planning Designing café learning: learning space w/ indoor and outdoor aspects that are inviting and engaging Expansion of public student space across campus, primarily focusing on high student traffic areas Standardized classroom technology A standardized plan has been created and has been implemented across approximately 27% of NMSU $1 million over the next 2 years has been dedicated towards classroom technology and campus wireless Need larger central facility for technology (i.e. computer support, training, etc) A building of this magnitude has been addressed and included in the final Master Plan will replace Jacobs Hall and Hardman Hall (ref: - Master Plan Draft: November 2006).

10 Creative Media Institute Use the tools and expertise from that department to benefit the campus Created a film Aggie Experience to highlight the lives of students at NMSU. This will serve as a recruiting tool as well as an academic and social perspective of the campus Utilize their resources towards emerging technologies such as SecondLife, socialnetworking sites, and itunesu

11 Branding Initiative University Communications Enforce consistency w/ styles and content The NMSU Branding website was established to help departments to implement the branding standards. More training on CMS including Centra / face-to-face availability of support and training, featured department showcase of integration, etc) ICT has developed a CMS workshop to help departments wanting to implement the CMS Department showcases will be featured on Simpler interface being developed Create seamless identity across all campuses NMSU Homepage has been re-vamped The NMSU Branding website provides templates, pictures, logos, and more to aide in this effort

The focus of the 2007 ACANS Summit will be information technology planning and support to meet the current and future expectations of NMSU students. Participants will be taking part in various sessions throughout the day to discuss future support requirements of IT areas.
