System design and installation RETAIL PARK MAINTENANCE Retail and Industrial parks require both regular inspection and maintenance work by suitably qualified engineers. We provide a proactive maintenance service to a number of high profile sites. This includes planned preventative maintenance and carrying out any remedial services as required which saves our clients money. All inspections, surveys and remedial work are accompanied by photographic evidence as appropriate. TARMAC AND WHITE LINING SERVICES Tarmac We provide a complete tarmac laying and repair service. For smaller repairs we use a patching system which is extremely flexible, impermeable to water and provides a permanent fix that will probably outlast the existing surface. Commercial and industrial properties are subject to heavy usage, and all of our block products for this application are made from durable and versatile concrete. This can then be coloured and moulded to create different textures, details and finishes as required. There are clearly many variables in consideration of the type of property, intended usage and colour scheming, our team of specialists will be on hand to offer advice and design ideas. Concrete paving products provide a working surface that is durable and versatile. Patching is simple, requires no compacting and is cost effective. It is also applied by hand so there is no waste and it is environmentally friendly. Of course, for large areas, it is generally more economical to use normal tarmac. However, when we encounter street furniture e.g. manholes and drains, we blend in Pacopatch to absorb the stresses and strains of everyday traffic use. Road markings Where white lining and highway marking is concerned, we have a large range of stencils, shaped for all your needs, from arrows, blocks and circles to disabled and mother and baby parking. All work is carried out in full compliance to national traffic regulations, using only highly durable polymer paints in a variety of colours. In all cases we can manage the entire project including dealing with local authorities, obtaining necessary permits, and providing any necessary traffic management. 6 GRAFFITI AND CHEWING GUM REMOVAL We remove unsightly substances such as CHEWING GUM from car parks, pavements and walkways using specialist hot box lances to clean surfaces or equipment. GRAFFITI is an increasing problem in the UK and it should be removed within 24 hours of its appearance to deter further graffiti attacks as graffiti attracts graffiti. We remove all types of graffiti using a non-damage system from walls made of limestone, sandstone, brickwork, as well as plastic signage, Perspex and motor vehicles. FENCING AND SECURITY SERVICES Fencing We help clients who experience problems with the misuse of vacant or disused property or subject to fly tipping or unauthorised occupation. Concrete safety barriers, security fencing or other measures can be the solution. Our temporary or permanent concrete barriers can be used to secure sites throughout and prevent unauthorised access to remote or unguarded premises and land. We offer a large range of fencing options and designs from palisade and railings, to a variety of wood structures all conforming to BS1722 (1-14). Palisade is recommended for high security and is available up to a height of 3 metres in a galvanised finish. Design can be either 1 or 3 prong and can also be treated in polyester powder-coated finish in most colours if required. If there is a problem with the gutters it can cause water damage to property. Blocked gutters can become heavy from the extra weight of dirt and water which can cause guttering to pull away from your fascia s, and in some cases fall from the building completely. We clean the guttering system, the downpipe or downspout is unblocked and we also do minor repairs if necessary. As an additional service we can clean the soffits and fascias for you as well. Window and door solutions We offer a nationwide service specialising in the protection of empty property by supplying and fitting metal window security screens (SITEX screens) and window security. 7 DRAIN UNBLOCKING AND CLEANING Inten provide drain cleaning services for commercial and domestic installations in an environmentally friendly manner without the use of chemicals. DRAIN CLEANING SERVICES Many of our jobs consist of being called out to clear blockages. These can be caused by a build-up of fat and grease from cooking, or maybe tree roots. In more serious cases it s structural defects or broken pipes caused by ground movement, vehicles, corrosion, or just age that cause the problem. We can help in all of these situations with our engineers fixing the problem with minimal fuss and offering excellent value for money. We can help with the following: Emptying of petrol interceptors Cleaning of pump stations Root cutting Emptying and cleaning septic tanks HIGH PRESSURE JETTING Inten engineers use high pressure jetting to clean the drains using specialist 3000 or 4000 psi units. These high pressure jets are capable of cutting through most obstructions in drains including grease and accumulated waste and debris. DRAIN CCTV SURVEYS CCTV drainage surveys If we are not able to find the cause of a blockage easily, we can take a closer look with our CCTV equipment. This allows our engineers to see exactly what the problem is which means we can give you a really accurate estimate of the cost of any repairs. Engineers feed a specialist camera head attached to a reel of cable into the drain to be surveyed. The camera head incorporates a lighting system and the resulting bright image is transmitted to a monitoring screen for assessment. The result is forwarded to you on a DVD together with a site map and recommendations with costings where appropriate. If the line is blocked our engineers will make every effort to clear the blockage to allow the survey to proceed using the equipment available to them. On rare occasions the line will be blocked to such an extent that a survey is not possible, however valuable information will be provided to enable you to make a decision about further action. CCTV can also be a very useful way of identifying issues before they become more serious. For example you may wish to use it for drains on a home you are thinking of buying. DRAIN PLANNED PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE The programme is tailor made to your individual requirements and offers planned maintenance of your drains, sewers and associated pipework. The idea is to keep the system flowing freely, so avoiding the problems associated with blockages and reduced flow. All pipework is different and the frequency and type of service depends on the amount of use the system gets. Also, the substance being discharged, size of building and type and size of pipework are all contributing factors to the effectiveness of the system. At a time to suit you, our engineers will carry out the scheduled work, ensuring a minimum of inconvenience. The pre-planned preventative maintenance programme helps to avoid blockages that can result in damage to property and stock, the potential health risk from flooding, the obvious inconveniences and, of course, unbudgeted expenditure. 8 PATCH LINING Depending on the structural integrity of a pipe, we may be able to line a length of pipework using a Polyester / Felt Liner. By doing this we can greatly limit excavation and reduce time and costs. PATCH lining DRAIN AND PIPE LINING Lining is a more effective and economical way of repairing cracked drains than excavation and renewal. Drain lining Drain lining involves adding a resin liner to a damaged pipe. The resin liner will also improve the flow rate by reducing friction and provide a highly resilient, permanent, seamless tube inside your existing pipe or drain. The resin impregnated liner may be blown into the drain using specialised equipment or winched through depending on circumstances. A removable inflatable tube is then blown in under pressure and liner is forced into contact with the previously defective pipe until curing takes place. Our skilled engineers calculate the chemical proportions of the resins taking into account the ambient temperature and ultra violet conditions, this ensures that each drain run is out of use for the minimum amount of time and that you can use it the same day. Patch liners can also be used to repair holes in pipes and small cracks. Inten use Renoline patch lining kits. Renoline has been the market leader for many years. We offer a 5 year guarantee for our patch lining service. This is an innovative and more robust rehabilitation system that caters for much more severely damaged pipework where a standard polyester liner cannot be used. Like a seamless elastic sock it is capable of lining bends and is ideal for more complex drainage systems that are put under pressure. By sealing the area of water ingress either using localised patch liners or chemical grouting we prevent any fur. Patch Lining works on the same principal as a lining but gives an even greater flexibility to localise a repair. By using any of these lining techniques we may be able to greatly reduce costs and disruption as we may be able to prevent major excavation under homes, offices or roads. Pitch fibre pipe repair We have extensive experience in dealing with pitch fibre pipe repairs. We have knowledge of the areas across the South East that are affected and can provide suitable solutions for all cases. Cracked drains There are many reasons why drains crack. This may be due to ground movement or vehicle traffic or simply because old clay pipes rely on rigid cement joints that eventually fail. The result is the same, cracks appear and allow foul water to leak into the soil or fresh water to enter the system, roots then invade the line leading to blockages and the eventual collapse of the system. If remedial action is taken in time when a drain is cracked it is possible to restore the integrity of the pipes and prevent further deterioration. Drain lining is one method of repairing cracked drains. DRAINAGE SERVICES 7

9 PIPE RE-ROUNDING Many of the year old pitch fibre pipes are squashed and deformed and in urgent need of repair. Re-rounding these pipes can be used to repair them. Pipe re-rounding SEWER CONNECTIONS A method of re-rounding these pitch fibre pipes has been developed. Using specialist equipment a series of dies are winched through the line removing the blisters and restoring the original profile of the defective pipe. Resin lining is then used and the result is a more efficient system with many years of life ahead. Inten staff are street works accredited which enables us to work within the highways. Water and sewerage companies in England and Wales have duties under the Water Industry Act 1991 (WIA91) to make connections to their network. New sewer connections Inten can provide new sewer connections, which typically involves the following work: Laying a service pipe or drain and making the connection to the water main or sewer (service connections). Laying a new water main or sewer if there is none nearby (requisitions and self-lay). Upgrading the local distribution network or sewerage network including local service reservoirs or local pumping stations. Developing resources, if water resources are already fully committed (including bulk mains and treatment plants) or increasing the capacity of the sewage treatment works. DRAINAGE SERVICES 8

10 RAINWATER HARVESTING SYSTEMS Rainwater harvesting systems re-use much of the rainwater, reducing the amount of surface water disposal and saving precious treated water. After rain, roof and hard standing water is usually collected into the underground drainage system and disposed off site into the main surface water sewer, watercourse or soakaway. But if all of the developments in the surrounding areas are disposing of their water at the same time, this overloads the system. SEWAGE TANK INSTALLATION Inten has excellent knowledge and expertise in dealing with the treatment of waste where there is no connection to mains sewers. Rainwater management can help in obtaining planning permission on sensitive development sites where planning authorities may be looking for innovative elements to be incorporated in the building. Some developments are receiving planning permission with restrictions on the rate of surface water disposal from site, which can also be helped by the installation of a good management system. Many domestic and commercial properties are not serviced or have direct access to a main sewer. Therefore, an effective on site method of dealing with waste will be required. Inten can offer complete project management, from initial site survey, including CCTV survey, which determines the best product selection, liaising with the Environment Agency to obtain the correct discharge licence, to the supply and installation of the complete system including all drainage, electrical and commissioning works. PUMPING STATIONS Pumping stations are required if you have a main sewer available that cannot be reached by a gravity discharge.
